CASS CREEK PredatorII

Recommended Posts

Just a little while ago, right before dark I go to check on some cows right. They are all back over in the winter pastures, so I go shut the gap. I then decide to set down and watch this this one field where I've some yotes. I'm sitting there and I remember that I have this call behind the seat. So I get it out and turn it on and play the Rodent squeal. It plays its little squence. I sit there about ten or so minutes. I check it out again and decide to play the Raccoon pups one. So its playing and we are sitting under this very large red oak, the dog jumps up. Then I hear something in the tree also, look up and here comes this big coon down the tree, that is till we see each other and then its gone. So I guess that coon pup sound must have been pretty darn authentic. Any body else had a simular encounter?

Hey I wasn't tring to call the coon it just was there. Scared the you know what out of me when I turned around and he was right there, some 30 odd feet coming toward me.

LOL, yep ... that's what happens sometimes.

I've called in some "funny looking" coyotes over the years ...

...a doe that was MAD and looking to stomp something into the dirt,

...a bull that didn't appreciate the sounds I was making,

...hawks looking for an easy meal,

...raccoons that weren't very happy,

...minks,

...Deer hunters looking to see what the ruckus was all about. :)

And believe it or not, a few coyotes along the way.

In a nutshell, expect to see anything that has young nearby, scavengers, and any type of predator. That's what makes it so much fun, IMO. ;)
