Well I did work for Dell, but they just laid off all 250 XPS technicians. So if anyone works for a company that might be looking for computer technicians/IT staff in the Nashville area I would greatly appreciate any info. Already sent out 11 applications, but any help is always good.

Thanks in advance!

Have you tried or sent an application to Deloitte?

Read in the paper how some folks didn't know they were let go, until they came to work and the job wasn't there. Sucks.

jrules, check Craigslist in Nashville/Jobs/Tech support. I cannot vouch if the jobs are real or if they pay anything. But there are multiple listings.

I wish you best of luck.

The discount sucked, 10% off new stuff and 15% off refurb. And yes I was called that tuesday morning and told I wasn't needed anymore. Deloitte looks intresting I will check them out thanks.

Sorry to hear this. As someone in the IT industry myself, the thought of losing my job scares the hell out of me. There are jobs out there, it just may take some creative beating the bush to find the good ones.

Good luck!

I am not an ITer but the thought of being unemployed bothers me greatly. Glad I am in a basically recession proof industry.

Okay - Dice IS your friend. Sure you will get a bunch of stuff from Akmed in an area far away from you, but I had my resume posted there and received the call that put me where I am today. Many recruiters will not post jobs on dice but will scan the resumes looking for people that fit their qualifications.

You are a cop or a grave digger?

You are a cop or a grave digger?

Or a prostitute?

You guys are killing me here

I am the warehouse manager of a wine and liquor distributor here in Knoxville. I do not know much but I do know that people will stop eating before they will stop drinking. There is an old saying in the liquor business, it goes something like this. " when times are good people drink, when times are bad they drink more"

So it all works out  And that does not even take into account my discount!! :bowrofl:

J, don't know what your IT background is, but if you have development experience (especially in .Net), there's jobs in Nashville to be had. Also, take a look at Nissan to see what they have available, their building is almost done. if you got skills as a developer, look into Compuware (former employer, great benefits, you'll be a contractor that gets bonuses, overtime and vacation).
