FRANKLIN — A Spring Hill man is accused of pointing a gun at another driver while attempting to merge into a lane of traffic. adlabel_horz.gif

Police said Eric S. Edwards, 26, of Spring Hill pulled a gun on Christian Jandreski just before 6 p.m. Wednesday. Both men were traveling west on Highway 96 just west of Mack Hatcher Parkway. Two lanes converge into one lane there.

Jandreski, 24, told police that Edwards pointed a gun at him when he attempted to merge into the single lane.

Officers driving unmarked vehicles located Edwards' vehicle in downtown Franklin, near Five Points. A search of his vehicle led to the discovery of a pistol, shotgun, rifle and a variety of ammunition, police said.

"The Franklin Police Department would like to remind drivers of the importance of being courteous to motorists with whom they share the city's roadways," Sgt. Charles Warner said.

"This incident could have ended tragically and changed people's lives forever. Road rage is a serious crime with potentially serious consequences, and offenders will be arrested."

Edwards has been charged with aggravated assault.:stare:
