Calling TGO David, TGO David, you are wanted in Handguns...

Cerakote is the way to go, David has worked on several guns here including one of my Glocks, and he has a good explanation on why Cerakoting may be the better option.

Within reason, yes.

I would only use Duracoat on plastics. For anything metal that can survive being exposed to heat, I'd use a thermally cured product like moly resin or Cerakote.

The gun is a Kel Tec PF9, I carry it front pocket, just like a new finish (black) because it's looking a little rough.

I'd really look into a thermally cured coating. Duracoat just doesn't hold up, despite it's name.

Could any of you point me to someone that could coat this gun FOR me, and again all black. Also mabe a ballpark cost to have this done??

Thanks again.

Cummings Custom Refinishing in Greeneville. They have done several guns for me and the work has always been excellent. For a PF-9 slide it would probably cost you about $40 - $50. The turn around time for them is usually about 8 weeks. I will post a photo later of some of the work they have done for me.

Here are some photos of some of the work CCR has done for me. The first pistol is a Glock 22 done in Cera-hide house black. This work was done about two years ago and I have put about 1,000 rounds through the gun since then. As you can see the finish has held up extremely well. The second pistol is a Charles Daly Officer's Model that I had done recently. The finish is also Cera-hide house black.

The chemist in me urges you to use a heat treated resin vs paint.
