Unfortunately, it is now confirmed that I'll miss this one too. Drat!

That's alright. We're kinda getting use to not having you around.:(....Can we at least get a picture or a stand up silhouette figure of you. That'll give us something else to shoot at.:P......Sorry, that was wrong:shake:

As long as you shoot at me with a Glock. :(

About the time y'all get warmed up enough to shoot (brrrrr), I'll be getting started on a meeting up in Virginia.

Bummer Boom. At least I'll be on a range instead of screwing around with a hot water heater. Good luck dude.

Yeah it suxs. I can't wait to spend my day tomorrow, not knowing what I'm doing. Should be fun!

Dude, I'd almost trade days with you. :P

Well, plans change around here by the minute.

Trip was canceled, but we are still doing a conference call. If we get through in time, I may try to come out for a while.

Boom, I've had the water heater thing happen to me about a year ago. We went out to supper and planned a nice quiet night of TV watching when we got home. Water heater had other ideas. Water everywhere! Since I had no hot water turnoff in the house, I had to shut off all the water until I fixed the heater the next day. I added the hot water turnoff valve when I replaced the heater.

I went to sleep early so I could wake up early. I've got your number programmed in my phone.

Congratulations to all for a good day at the range! Pictures will follow this post, but here are the scores for members of TGO:

Mark@Sea - "a comfortable lead"

Boomhower - 182

Elliott - 181 - 1X

Mike357 - 172

CAS - 136

Pokey - 111 - 1X

Donna - 39 (CAS's Mom, 1st time shooter)

We had 7 new shooters/non-board members as well. Everyone managed to put a little lead on target, and everyone had fun. I would like to thank Boom, Pokey and Mike357 for their assistance before and afterwards. Mike especially went above and beyond.

CAS loaded a few 270 rounds, to boot, so know ye all that he is now a 'reloader'!

Not quite yet.

I have to dig through the pile of tools in gramp's shed for a mallet, and get me a caliper (probably also in the shed, but in the cabinet!).

Damn I missed getting a spare toothbrush. :) Ok, I'm really jealous, looks like a nice prize pack there, Mark. All I got today was wet at the swim meet. :(

What a great day at the range!:woohoo::clap:

First off I want to thank Mark and Sue for being the best host and hostess in all of Tennessee. You both went way above the call of duty and every one in attendance was treated to a first class day at the range.

Sue, thank you for the wonderful spread of food that you prepared. Hotdogs, chili, fixins, chips, drinks(both hot and cold). Not only did we have some fine shooting but the food was second to none! Your "chow" pic really did not do it justice. Nothing burps like a chili-dog and that hot apple cider was just the ticket for a cool crisp afternoon outside.

Mark thank you for running a great contest with the .22's. Everyone shot well and there was no doubt that you as our host was also our

champion :no1:on the firing line. Thanks also for the coaching on the proper way to sight and shoot for the 10 ring.

This get together and shoot definitely set the bar for others to strive for.

Tower and I got to do a little wheel gun shooting during the loading clinic.

Between the two of us we helped each other shoot better and tighter spreads and I was able to make great strides in properly gripping the SP-101.

And our impromptu, informal 1911 shootout between James, Tower and myself made for a real good time.

Unfortunately for C.A.S. our time ran out before he got to shoot the .38 specials he brought but he learned a skill that will serve him for the rest of time as a shooter. I know he will put that reloading to use.

Cody also brought some apples that Tower and James turned into salad with a dozen or so rounds out of the 12 gauge. I take some credit with quality throws :) of the forbidden fruit for you all to shoot at.

Boom and Pokey making it was a most pleasant suprise especially after reading about Boom's waterheater. It was nice of the wife to give you a pass so you could come and shoot. I hope you guys were able to get her some hot water tonight.

My Mosin Nagant is looking like new again after using the cleaning kit prize from the .22 competition. That .30 cal cleaning milsurp package that was included worked great, my bore looks like new in spite of corrosive ammo.

And while I also shot with the girls I can also claim I kicked their butts:taunt:

They most definitely are the fairer sex and I am especially glad Julez was not there to put me in my place. ;) All kidding aside, Julie we missed you and wished you did not have to work today. Hope to see you next time.

Time for me to get back to cleaning the firearms.

Thanks again Mark is was a great day, the best ever! :(:rock:

I'm just going to say, NOPE and end with that. It's been a long day.

Wow, Boom!!! Your wife told you to play rather than replace the water heater? I think I'd do what needs doing to make sure she keeps you. :)

Really wish I could have been there - even if it wasn't in Acapulco and warm. Sounds like a whole lot of fun. I might have given Donna someone to beat in the shoot.

I didn't do a conference call.... I did three conference calls. Uggg. And installed an electrical outlet in between calls two and three. And you guys thought you were having fun.... :(

While it was fun, the real fun for Pokey and I was from about 3 pm yesterday evening til now. If I talk to anymore people about how to install a water heater, I think I'm going to become a professional installer of the dang things.

Posted

looks like i'm 0-1, came down with something Thursday around 4pm and stayed on the couch Friday and most of the weekend.

First off I want to say Thanks to Mark and his family! I had a great time and thanks for the help on my shooting stance. The trip was awesome and I appreciate everything!!!

I can't wait until the next one! I'm glad Boom finally talked me into coming to these gatherings...I coach upward sports at our church so for the next 8 weeks it might be hard to get to the next one cause the games are on Saturdays.

Thanks again Mark for hosting the event!!

Mark. Where's the photos of the official snack food of the East Division of the TGO? Doritos???:D

Posted

I didn't get a good photo of all the food - there was another table full of stuff. Sue worked her butt off, and really laid out a good spread, so I have to give her credit;

5 kinds of chips, 3 kinds of cookies, grilled dogs, fixings, chili, baked beans, 4 kinds of sodas, hot cocoa, hot cider, hot coffee, honeybuns and dunking sticks, nuts...

You get the idea - it was about half picnic, half shooting match. There was probably a Dorito or two in there somewhere. We went through about 30 dogs, and not much was left of the rest of it. It was a lot of fun. Now I need to get off my lazy butt and get the grill up from the range...

Posted

Pokey, we're glad you had fun. You should'a taken a cleaning kit, though - I had two left afterwards.

Guess I will paint one pink, for Sue...
