....I'm in. I just talked to my wife tonight and we are not going to that special delivery class. Pokey will also be accompanying me......Let's get a few facts straight.

What time should I start looking for folks to show up?

What time do you want people to start showing up? Mike usually says 10 or after when we are in Oak Ridge. Is that good with you, would you like it to be earlier, later??? What do you think?

If we are caravaning up to Kingsport I would like to meet by 9:30. It takes ninety minutes. Earlier would be fine with me too.
Breadbox store on the corner at the Washington Pike exit off of I-640 eastbound.

The Breadbox/Shell Station would be to the right at the intersection at the end of the exit ramp. Basically, exit at Washington Pike, turn right onto Washington Pike, turn left into Breadbox/Shell.

Who all is caravaning? and is this the place that everyone is meeting up at? Pokey and I haven't really decided what time we want to go, but the earlier the better for us. I guess it will all depend on what time Mark wants everyone to start showing up.

My week just got a little brighter!

I would like to leave the Breadbox/Shell by 9:30 at the latest.

Count me as one, and my nephew as a maybe. Have not heard from him yet as to if he is coming down for sure or not.

CAS and his posse is supposed to be meeting us there.

So as of this post I guess it is three cars. Dunno about Dotson. Stevie Wonder might be coming too as the Shell is so easy to find.

I think me and Cody are going to caravan from Clinton to the breadbox, we're meeting Stevie somewhere in between. He was a little vague on landmarks.

Glad to hear you're back in, Boom. I'll bring that reloading stuff for you to look at too, Mike.

There might be one more car if my Dad gets to go. It's all about if he can make it ot Clinton from Oneida by 8:00-8:30.

Mike....Is that Bread box right there on the corner in front of Home Depot?

Hi All,

Late on the reply - I'm on the road. In Atlanta at the moment, I have to go down to Eastman, GA. Sick family. No worries, I plan on being home Wednesday night, Thursday at the latest.

Show up whenever convenient - anytime from say 9 am to Noon... If some are a little late, those of us who are there can get a little practice in beforehand.

The match is gonna take a little while - I'm guessing maybe a couple of hours. I'll have coffee, hot dogs and beans onsite - bring your own sodas, if you would.

I have three or four 22 pistols for those who are without. Please bring standard velocity 22LR. You are plenty welcome to shoot hi-vel (or anything short of those nooclear tipped, 747 killin', magical mainstream media bullets) in your pistols, but a couple of mine are antiques, so I get a bit picky.

I'll go ahead and set a drop-dead time of noon. You are welcome to show up later than that, but the match will be in progress. You may (probably) get to shoot it anyway, but no guarantees.

Everybody stay safe on the road... looking forward to meeting you.

That is correct. As you turn right onto Washington Pk the gas station is just to the left. If anyone gets to the Home Depot they went a little too far.

My phone number is 228-8451 if anyone needs to call for further co-ordination. I will be there shortly after 9 am. So don't yall be afraid of coming early. In case any of you coming don't know me I will be the fat guy in the red Ford pick up.

Anybody else want to come? Some of you newer members ought to join us.

Well, since we are starting the competition at 12, and I can't get ahold of Pokey, I don't know what time we will leave. I'll work out the details with him tomorrow and get back to you guys as to whether or not we will be joining the convoy.

oops

Has your # changed?

Thanks for catching that Boom, the number is 228-8451

No wonder no one ever calls me,

I fixed it on my original post as well.

i think mark said he tried to find wideners last time he was here, so i thought i'd put some directions on the board if anyone is interested. i'm not sure of their saturday hours, but M-F they close at 530.

directions to wideners reloading (www.wideners.com)

reloading supplies, cheapest prices on ammo i've found local, small collection of used guns, couple gun safes in store

Wideners is about a mile from my house, but I still manage to pass it when I go there. It's easy to miss. Here are the directions from I26.

On 26 take the N State of Franklin (old exit 36, not sure of new exit #) (walmart, kmart, etc.) and bear right.

you'll go about 3.5 miles and along the way go thru 5 red lights and a kmart, cheddars, lowes, exxon, BP, in that order.

at the sixth red light (taco bell, hardees, suntrust, krystals) bear right onto what i call 'the old jonesboro highway'. not sure what its real name is, 11-E maybe, but its a 4 lane highway that goes from JC to jonesboro and eventually greenville and the back side of I26 (yay loop!).

go about 2 miles, you'll pass blockbuster, walmart, sonic, harbor freight in that order.

about 1/4 mile after sonic, when you see a BP on the right, start slowing down. Just past wideners is a stone world and crowders gun & vac.

wideners is a white building with a green awning, on your right, just off the road. there is a fence and foliage so it is easy to pass up, but if you see crowders and stone world you've gone too far.

as someone else has said, they do much more mail order than walk-in, but they're usually at least civil in store. heh.

Hi All,

Wideners is closed on weekends....

Hey, the 12 noon time isn't something to sweat too much, it will take at least 30 minutes for the first 3 shooters, so there is a very good chance that you can be an hour or more late with no worries...

My computer at home has gone tango uniform, so I may be unable to respond after this message, depending on what went wrong... headed there this afternoon...

Ricks, thanks for the directions Wideners. I really need to go there and see what they have with my own eyes. I really find it difficult to look at 18 brands of bullets on their website. And from Mark picking up reloading supplies for me I know firsthand it is cheaper, and they will have what i need.

Good luck with the 'puter Mark. Looking forward to seeing you Saturday.

Ricks Hope you are coming too!

Hey guys, I just found out tonight that my daughter has a swim meet in Cleveland this Saturday. So I'm out and not real happy about it. :taunt:

Pokey and I will be leaving around 0830 and heading up a little early. If Mike says it takes 90 min., that would put us at Mark's place by 1000. Mark, can you PM me directions just to ensure that I remember how to get there. I'm fairly sure that I will remember once I see the surroundings, but I like to have a back up plan.

Have fun at the meet y'all.

Corey and I won't be able to make it this time. Tis' a shame too since I just purchased a used Mini-14 at RK's Chilhowee gun show and I'm itching to send some .223's down range. Oh well...there's always December ...:taunt:

yep, I'm planning on going. I just need to call M@S tonight get directions and pick up a box of .22.

Ok to bring the two ladies in my sig? Since i've vowed never to go back to scioto without a vest on I don't get to shoot much.

ricks, i don't want to speak for Mark but I would imagine you can bring and shoot whatever you have. I doubt your babies are any louder or obnoxious than my Mosin but I am bringing that too, along with a few handguns , .40, .45, and of course the ,357mag. Gotta have something to offset them wussified .22 rounds.

Posted

We'll manage something.

Someone we know should have good directions to the Breadbox.

Cody, read the posts dude, lol or print out this post!

take I-75 south. Go east toward Asheville on I-640. The second exit you come to will be Washington Pike Exit. Take that exit and turn right at the light. The gas station is just to the left. If you get to the Home Depot on Washington you went tooo far.

Posted

Mike, take your .357. I've got a box of .38 Specials.
