There was some guy that was selling those little Suzuki things (except they were Dihotsos) over off Chapman Hwy in Seymour. Seems like you could get them for around $4000.

Here is my toy. 1985 M1009 CUCV.

Looks like this now. Needs a few more minor things done, but pretty much done.

Did the bodywork, some welding, replaced all the floor pans and the dash, redyed the dash and door panels, painted the outside, rhinolined the inside, installed a CD player, etc., etc.

This is what it looked like when I got it.

I spent many hours in one of those during many ATs and Desert Storm. Did you put AC in it too? That was the one think lacking! The radio wasn't necessary in Saudi Arabia. Hope you got better tires too. Army procurement apparently didn't do much off-roading. The tires they issued were supposed to keep the mud from collecting in the thread. They didn't.

Tires on it are better for the mostly city driving that I do with occasionaly country roads.

The A/C is next major thing on the list. Will run me about $1200 or so but I am not in a hurry since I have all new seals on the top and can do the convertible thing with it for awhile in the summers.

you don''t need to bug out to anywhere most likely, but rather repel the hoards that will try to get to your castle. I been telling you that you need a field piece, LOL.

BTW that's a helluva nice looking truck. If it is as sound mechanically as it is aesthetically you really have it going on. Can't wait to take a spin in it, LOL

How about a Ma Deuce mounted Rat Patrol style in the bed?

I want Something BIG

Really BIG

The M37 I bought is rated at 3/4 ton - but I'm told it will haul a lot more than that. Many people have swapped a small diesel for the flat 6 it comes with. If I were more of a mechanic I would probably go that route - est. 25MPG and 70+ MPH road speed, and still an extremely capable off-road vehicle.

Now, if you want to get really interesting, look up an M43 - the same vehicle with an ambulance body. The version with a PTO winch looks pretty sweet, and could be converted easily to a camper.

An Old Land Rover would be an option.

They had the pulling power but not much on the high end.

Much like the old Toyota Land Cruisers.

Really Built,

......"like a tank"

They would take you anywhere but top speed was about 50 mph.

The new vehicles are more like show cars Top $$$ SUVs

Like these:

Anybody know where you can get those Blue Buckets?

Tractor Supply?

They would be nice to have. PS

There's a landrover in that picture? What are these blue buckets you speak of?

There is actually THREE Land Rovers. Count them.

Four if you count the reflection off the other one.

...and there are four blue buckets too!

In fact, there is four of everything in this photo.
