Raid on trailer

Went camping up on the farm in Indiana. This is the result of having fun with a few firearms. The camper belongs to my younger brother and he was preparing to scrap it, he already had gutted the inside and we kind of put the "Loveshack" out of her misery.

Best part was that a teen named Zach, there with his Dad, got his first chance to shoot a handgun. He put a lot of holes into the camper using my SAS Ruger .22. The kid had a smile a mile wide, Dad is says they are adding one of them onto a wish list. The man has more toys than anyone I know, no doubt Zach will have a .22 by Christmas. We also shot the SKS and he loved that too. Neither could believe the bayonet and grenade launcher.

The second best part is that my wife did not complain once about my open carry or my concealed carry while travelling. Not too mention I kind of was sticking it to my very ANTI sis in law :D.

All in all it was about the best weekend of the year so far. Nothing beats camping on the farm.

I can't help but noticed that there are some sections of metal without holes in them.

That's from the .32s ricocheting off of the aluminum. :D

I can't help but notice the holes in the propane tank. :D

I was pleasantly surprised to see no mention of the ATF in this thread given the title.

That looks like a blast! Shooting stuff that's not made of paper is both fun and educational!

Yeah I liked the propane touch as well. Now that would have made a nice ending for the day with that Mosin you got.

Back a few years ago, while I was living on a local lake, my brother came over and we decided to sink a 55 gallon drum by floating it and shooting it full of holes. I'm sure that act today would get us jailed and fined by EPA and a bunch of other people.

Anyway, my brother brought his Contender in some god-awful caliber and for some reason, I decided to try my .25 caliber Sterling pistol. I discover quickly that .25s will just bounce off of an oil drum.

Some lessons in life are made more vivid by just doing stuff.

I wonder if the ricochets hit anything across the lake....

ATF, while not in the title of the post was there in some manner, if you know what I mean.:eek:

The propane tank had to be 20 years old, not much chance it was still holding any gas. The 7.62X39 rounds easily went through it. We did have some .45ACP bouce back off the camper, not sure what it was hitting. .22lr went right on through most everything but was not shot at the propane tank. That propane tank had been strapped to the hitch, about twenty rounds at it nocked it clean off. That grill took so much ammo to cut down it was ridiculous. The smallest amount of metal still intact was holding it up. Finally one shot took it down.;)

This is really a fine example of the shooting arts. We certainly need to do this more often. I am sure that the public at large would share our enthusiam.
