Well after MUCH deliberation and alot of patience from Joe and Dan at Hero-Gear, I decided to go with the Dan Wesson 1911 commander for my first 1911. The smaller frame and stainless finish was what I was looking for not just for looks, but also a little friendlier for carrying purposes. Thanks to the guys at Hero-Gear for all the help, and I hope to be a regular customer.

Hey... great choice!

That was one of my top choices (though for my second 1911), I just fell into an LB instead... I take it you got to fondle about 8-10 other 1911's that day, didn't u? Definately one of the best toy stores in the area.

Again, congrats!

Wow, that's one sexy gun. Mind if I ask what those go for?

It was right at $1,100.

:D

I was looking at the Sig line, but Joe let me fondle a few different guns and this one fit my hand pretty nice, especially after having the Hogue grips put on. It was in stock and I had planned on going shooting with some of you guys but something came up at the last second.

Actually, Joe worked out a deal with me for some other guns I had and would let go only for a new pistol. I got it out the door for only $130, that is counting trade difference, grips, ammo, and a new carrying holster.

We missed you Saturday after work. We waited around for about 30 minutes and figured you werent coming.

The gun was 1029.00

"...let go only for a new gun..." ?

I think you were offered a used SA Champion, a used SW with laser grips, and I said I would sell you my personal SigArms 226 if you had to have it, but preferred to get you a new one instead.

:-\

ANYWHO, hope we can get you out on the range soon so you can break that badboy in!

Thanks for that exact dollar amount, I was just trying to ballpark it......

I liked all your guns, that's why it took me 2 1/2 hours to decide. And the part about only letting my guns go for a new pistol...... I was saying it as in a "new pistol to me", not necessarily a "brand spanking new out of the box pistol".

I very happy with my purchase, and I think the smaller frame is ALOT more comfortable to wear. I can't wait to shoot it!!!!

I am sorry you guys waited, my apologies, I wound up having to watch after my 2 year old neice because my wife became sick.

This week will be REALLY bad.

We have a ton agency and dept bids/orders that have to be completed this week.

Expect myself and the rest of the staff to be strung out and cranky this week.

Kelly and I are leaving Saturday for New Orleans for the big IACP show, so Dan will be short handed until Wed.

In other words....dont count on it this week or weekend.:D

Congrats man!

DW makes a fine 1911. I assume you got the .45acp, not the 10mm? I have wanted a 10mm C-BOB or Razorback for a long time, myself.

Can't wait to see pics.
