sight pusher

wondering if anyone has the sight pusher for the sig pro? took it to a local gun shop(wont mention names) and was told he could "adjust it "with a brass punch and a hammer, no thanks!!!! any help would be appreciated

I have used wooden dowels and brass hammers for many, many years with great results. With practice they can be used with just as much (if not more) precision than the pushers. Many smiths actually prefer this way simply because there is less change of boogering up the slide in the process...wood/brass is softer than metal.

The gunsmith you visited was not out of line, and wouldn't have damaged your gun.

However the pushers are almost required for installing/removing simply because they line things up better.
