My system restore, and safemode are also inoperable with this ************.

I do believe I'm at a total loss with this ****!

Now to top it all ******* off,my laptop battery charger is broken which means I cant order a new one being my desktop has a *** **** virus :P ERRRR!

If you already have Malwarebytes installed, rename MBAM.EXE to something else, and try running it again.

If you don't have it installed, download and install it, rename MBAM.EXE to something else, and give it a try.

By default MBAM.EXE will be in c:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

EDIT: You could also try the same thing with any other anti-spyware programs you have, just rename the main executable.

My daughter picked that one up on facebook or myspace on her computer. All I could do was set her restore point back a couple of days. I could find nothing to get rid of it.

I JUST killed that last night on my daughters computer!!!!

I used windows defender...turns out when total security installs, it tells Defender to place it into the "safe programs" list...remove it from that list, reboot...all done..

if that doesnt work...Malwarebytes (as stated above) will kill it...for instructions how, see here: How to remove Total Security (Uninstall Guide)

Format the HDD and reinstall Windows.

It will probably take less time to do that then it will to try all the other stuff.

When I used to run Windows I always kept an external HDD chassis lying around so I could pull a root drive that was infected and slave it to another machine to clean it up. If you have more than one machine, it might help...

This is something i do everyday.

Rename combofix to killitall or something like that and run it in safe mode (f8 at boot before windows loads) because the Vundo trojan can not start in safe mode and it is a memory resident virus so killing it in standard boot will only slow it down.

Then clean up after it in normal boot with Malwarebytes.

Some version's of Vundo corrupt the windows socket and you will loose internet after you fix it. Run this - WinSock XP Fix Freeware download and review - fix XP internet connectivity from SnapFiles to solve that.

Back up your personal files first. More than likely they are not infected.

You can always clean them before you copy them back to your computer.

I used to think I was always getting viruses because my PC would lock up so much. It always seemed to happen because I was downloading a song. Reformatting so much was a severe headache, and then I discovered it was a faulty modem. Haven't had a problem since. That's not your case, but it did teach me one thing. Don't load load the PC with files you have to have. Burn a movie but don't store it. Get your photos onto a zip. This also makes everything run faster.

Beat me to it!

My stupid lap top won't shut down like it suppose to, it hangs up and will eventually close, like 10 minutes later. Can't figure it out.

Already tried renaming Combofix....didn't work.

On top of that, there's no way to disable my Virus protection for CF in safemode since there's no icon in the bar.

Format the HDD and reinstall Windows.

Cant format.

Even though I have my important things saved on zip drives,I have thousands of pictures on that machine that I can't loose (no,not those kinds:rolleyes: )
