Outdoor Ranges in TN?

Are there any well kept, outdoor gun ranges in Tennessee? Id like to take a road trip this month and stay a couple days and shoot at an outdoor pistol range. Someone point me in the right direction. Thanks!

Most are yearly rates. You just cant go and shoot at any outdoor range I know of.

There's Terry Walden's place in Manchester. It's 5 bucks for as long as you want to shoot.

Not really well kept but it's nice and uncrowded, and unlike Stones River you don't have an SRO breathing down your neck the whole time.

I've never been to either, but there is one in the Catoosa Wildlife Management area near Crab Orchard, and there is one in the Royal Blue WMA near Jacksboro. From what I hear, both are free. Not sure about accessability during hunting season.

+1 for Terry Walden's place. It's kinda like going out into the woods to shoot. Nothing fancy, but is well berm'd. Also a rifle range... same price for both. A buddy from Georgia upon his first visit said he needed banjo music while driving up to Terry's store.

Oh yeah, bring a rake and you can harvest lotsa brass from the dirt.

If you want to camp, there's a private campground at the end of the road or your a few miles from Old Stone Fort State Park.

Just opened in Moore County outside Tullahoma is another outdoor pistol range at Hoselton Ventures... $8 for the day.

So two outdoor ranges that are uncrowded about 30min apart... and just minutes from both George Dickel and Jack Daniels distilleries.

How do you get to Waldens range? I live in Manchester but havent heard of it. Is there also a shop? I usually go shoot at Viola Valley Range.

From Manchester go north on highway 41. Just before getting to I-24 (Exit 105) turn left onto 16th Model Road. Go about 1.5 miles and you will see a sign on the right. He has a small shop and is a gunsmith. The range rate is $5 per day that you pay at the shop, or leave in a box if no one is there. You should call for the hours because sometimes there are groups that rent the entire range. There is also a church nearby so I think shooting on Sundays can't start until about 12:30.

Royal Blue is free. I think you have to have a hunting permit. I think TWRA maintains it.
