A few other SMZRU members and I went to a sneak showing of Zombieland last night.

Hot damn, this is probably the best zombie movie made, and that's saying a lot being the Romero fan I am.

I was sold in the first 5 minutes. I really can't say of any weak points. Just go see it this weekend.

Though there is one part where I almost teared up, as many of us would do. "Don't cross the streams" R.I.P.

Also the firearm usage was well done, no going to go into detail, but I thought the firearms chosen for the movie fit well and were very realistic in a SHTF situation.

I heard they all meshed well. I loved Shaun of the Dead, so I may have to check this out.

I did too, but this seriously trumps it a lot.

The opening music montage is pure awesome, and perfectly sets the tone.

I can't wait for others after Friday to chime in on this thread.

Just saw it last night...hands down best Zombie Film ever! Even better then Fido(if you havent seen it go find it). The casting was perfect and wow...I never knew there were so many ways to kill a zombie lol. I think this movie is best enjoyed with a crowd...I will probably watch it again and definitely buy it.

Ha Fido was really good.

I plan to see it again for sure. It trumps Shaun of the Dead, though I really do enjoy that movie. But there are some points actually made in this film no other zombie movie has name, no spoilers here.

There is ONE part though that was a tear jerker..... but he is with Eddie Van Halen now.

ALSO BE SURE TO STAY AFTER THE CREDITS!!!!!!!!!!

I hear this isn't really a "zombie" movie.

It's because they're infected,not dead :tinfoil:

They are dead in the movie, same rules apply in it.

1.Get bitten,

2.Either die quickly from wound or die slowly from the infection

3. Become reanimated and crave flesh

4. Get taken out by a round to the brain.

Planning on seeing it tonight...I'll decide then if they move to fast to be real zombies :P

Both sides of the "running zombie" debate.

NO- They are decomposing, therefore the muscles and tissues are breaking down and would tear under the stress. They also do not have the motor skills to run at high speeds.

YES- The infection is decomposing the body, but also is allowing some basic biological processes to still work. The reasoning being that since the brain is still somewhat active, (being that is why the only way to kill them is destroying the brain) it can be said that minor biological functions are still present, which causes the need to eat. The protein and other nutrients that are acquired in eating the flesh could be broken down and used to nourish the infected body, but not all functions are still there. Like muslces, sight, etc are still function systesm, but the skin, hair, etc are no longer being nurished by the body. Leading them to be able to run and climb, but still decompose at the same time.
