Movie - Law Abiding Citizen, Looks good to me

The Plot: An everyday guy (Butler) decides to take justice into his own hands after a plea bargain sets his family's killers free. His target: The district attorney who orchestrated the deal.

While I'm not advocating violence against anyone....I know that in at least my neck of the woods, plea deals (usually without the input of the victim) are the norm around and there are very, very few trials.

I understand that some of this may be from budget constraints and the uncertainty of what a jury may do, but I feel it is mostly from simply trying to clear the books and the thought that a conviction is a conviction even it is for a fairly minor charge compared to the original one.

I like how the plot says he takes justice into his own hands and not the law.

Interesting, might have to check this one out. I'm a big fan Gerard Butler, he was great in RocknRolla.

He was also Leonidas in 300.

Great thread revive Batman! :bat: Just watched this movie and it was awesome. Somewhatt unrealistic and had some plot/character holes but overall very good! The questions it raised were excellent and i found myself not being able to call the main characters good guys or bad guys. There were times i was rooting for both and despising both. Not your average lollipop social movie, but not overly cynical either. Great action, great story, movie believable, and the acting was very good.

My personal opinion...300 is by far Butler's best movie. Saw Gamer last week and was less than impressed. A poor ripoff of Death Race. And his romantic comedy was pretty weak. I believe he needs a real intese role that holds his acting interests. Hopefully this will be better.

Yes I am very opinated on movies. If I like, I really like it. If not--to Quote that great penguin philosopher, Opus---PPHHFFFTTT!:bat:

I think his best movie was Attila. Very good movie.

Haven't seen Attila--I'll check it out. Thanks.:bat:

PS, I've been borrowing your Mark Twain signature line in conversations. It's a big hit. But I do give you credit for it.

It was a made for TV movie (History Channel?) but it was very good if you like realistic history type stuff.

Just Redboxed it. It's definately black and white for the first half. Find yourself wondering if you're rooting for the wrong side and whether you should feel bad about it. I started getting a Houdini feeling in the middle that I can't disclose here. I wondered how nobody heard the hammering.

To the guys who know here, what was that thing he making in his shop before the cops took him? It looked like it had wings with a 3 foot span.

It's also good to see a hip hop/rap director give props to a juicy Grand Funk Railroad tune for the closing credits.

definitely had some holes or unresolved points. The thing he was making, "Chester", how someone of his "skill" set gets caught off guard at the beginning like he did. Nothing that ruined the movie though.

I just watched this and I have to say, I don't feel bad about rooting for Gerard Butler's character at all. To the end, I can't find fault.

My wife and I watched it last week. Very good, thought-provoking movie. Much better than Gamer. Wife was drop-jawed at the end twists. Definitely will try to watch again.

Saw it the other day. I liked it until the ending. I know it's shallow of me but I really wanted the DA to get it(the bomb). He was the real problem. And I doubt there was redemption to be had after all the carnage. Good movie.

I'm with 6.8 AR. I liked it until the last 10 minutes or so. The Hollywood ending ruined it. This movie would've been great with a Tarantino ending.
