Suppressor for 6.8 with 1/2-36 thread?

I have a Stag Model 5 and want a suppressor for it. However it's 6.8mm with a thread of 1/2-36. Does anyone make one that will work correctly. That is a 9mm thread, but if I put a 9mm supprressor on a 6.8mm barrel, will it suppress correctly? It dosen't seem so to me. Thanks for any input.

Yes. Standard threading on 6.8 is 5/8x24, which is also .308 threading. With that you can use the normal 6.8/.308 suppressors and FH/brakes.

Alternatively, you could have it rethreaded. The guys down at Hero Gear just threaded my 700 LTR to 5/8-24 and made a sweet thread protector for it as well. A little more expensive, but not much more. Plus, that's one less thing to come loose and cause a baffle strike in a pretty expensive can.

Well I picked up a Springfield XD9 for me Today. I shot my wife's Yesterday and fell in love with it. Standing shots grouping 3" @ 20 yards with a 3" barrel. So now if I get a 9mm suppressor I can use it on both firearms. It won't suppress the 6.8 correctly, but maybe enough to where hearing protection may not be required. I've been having trouble finding a threaded barrel for my XD. Any suggestions?

Cheapest route would be to find a barrel from a 4 or 5 inch and have it threaded. That is what I did with my XD45C. The longer barrels work perfect in the Compact/Sub-compact guns. I got the 5 inch barrel and had a gunsmith thread it. Tested it in the gun prior to threading and worked great just waiting on the ATF now so the real fun can start.

I don't have a caliper on hand and don't trust an eyeball judgement. If I get a 5" 9mm barrel will it accept 1/2" threads? I have a friend who owns a Tool and Dye shop. He actually does a lot of work for Barrett. I could trust his work anyday.
