Thompson Center Contender

I have a Thompson Center Pistol I am trying to get information on. I think it is a Contender model 45/410 barrel and the barrel is silver in color, stainless steel maybe? It is not your traditional looking "blued" barrel. on the face on each side is an engraved mountain lion positioned on a rock like it is getting ready to leap. I also have a .223 barrel with it. I also have a Tasco Scope on it as well, its a 4x28. I am trying to find out the correct model and number and approximate value.

I may have to sell it due to being layed-off. billy@billyharrisfishing.com

thanks

Does it look like it is bare metal or is does it appear to be powder coated silver/stainless?

Finish determines what you have there. It sounds like you have a Armaloy version. If so it is a little less common, but will not interchange barrels with the other contender line without some modifications or using correct Armaloy barrels.

Need to find out if it is a G2 contender or not.

I am going to have to say it is Armaloy version. I looked up some pics on the net and it looks like either 10" or 12" version, .45/410 bar.

I forgot to mention I got in around 1994

Ya it is a great shot - I have killed alot of deer with the .45. It is one of the most accurate pistols I have ever shot.

However I will have to let it go, gotta pay bills. I was estimating $600-$700 but just wasnt sure.

Might be a bit high simply because they are not collector items and a new setup just like it runs a little less than that.

I wouldn't accept less than $500 if scoped, but $700 may be a bit ambitious

/YMMV

ok, I have a Tasco 4x28 scope on it. It also has 2 barrels - .45/410 and I purchased a .223 remington barrel for it.

Thanks for the info and I plan to try and sell it.

I think $700 would be a good starting price on that package deal. Last Knox show had prices of around $500 for a pistol with one barrel depending on which barrel/gun combo.

If it is the combo you should have no problem getting that price....With a nice wood stock those are beautiful rifles also.

Good luck...Try the Gun shows first. You will get a lot more for it there for some reason.

ok, thanks for all the information. I think I will go ahead and sell it.
