Shopping for 2nd handgun....

I'm fortunate to have saved some extra money and will have around $750 to spend on a 2nd handgun. I'm torn between getting a CZ P-07 or a RAMI 2075 P, both in 9mm. I'm digging the P-07 more than the RAMI. Both are very good weapons. I found one P-07 at a shop near my work for $500 and another across the state line at a dealer in KY for $439. I haven't really searched for the RAMI yet, but I'm sure the price will be just below above mentioned price point. I'm also taking into account I will want a holster made for which ever one I get, so that'll be another $100 in addition to the cost of handgun. Anyone who has handled both, please give me some feed back on likes and dislikes. Also, has anyone bought a weapon in KY and broght it back to TN?

You can't go wrong with a CZ. Period. I love 'em all, though I still think the 75B is the finest 9mm made, including the Hi Power. As far as buying a HANDGUN in KY and bringing it back across the state line? Only if it's being sent by the seller (or FFL in KY) to an FFL in Tennessee to do the transfer. Better off to buy local, whether it's a gun shop or a TN resident, unless you're getting a helluva deal that would keep you in the cheap even after the shipping and transfer.

I'd wait off on the P-07 until they get the magazine and frame swell issues. I'll PM you with information on someone who's selling a RAMI for $500 OTD in Murfreesboro.

Nope, not a handgun.

He has to send it to FFL in TN, and the 4473 run in TN.

Federal law.

You can buy long guns in many other states, as long as your or the other state's laws don't prohibit it. If the dealer will do it.

Yes, you can; it is just a PIA. Don't even need to show up in the shop.

Have you local shop send them a copy of their FFL, they send it to your FFL, you fill out the paperwork, pay the TICS and xfer fee, then take your pistol home.

I love cz's and I think you will be very happy with any choice you make. It sounds like you are wanting a new carry weapon. Have you checked into the p01 yet? Very tough gun, they made it to pass the nato standards which are really tough. Guns and Leather have a used one for 509 last time I was there, I think they also had a p06 which is the .40 verson and a p07. All had good prices. I would run up to there and compare them all.

I loved my P07, but after a couple of range sessions the frame started swelling, mags didn't drop free, and the trigger stopped resetting reliably. It's being fixed by CZ right now.

Once those issues are fixed, I anticipate being very happy with this pistol. Great shooting gun, feels great, and easily controllable despite the light weight.

Well, this second handgun will become an alternate to my CZ 75 Compact .40. I know there is gonna be days when I don't mind the weight of the 75 Compact and other days I would wanna carry something a little lighter. More or less giving me the ability to pick one or the other depending on what I'm wearing or the situation. Hell, might carry both, lol. As for the P-07, I was unaware of frame swell issuses. Thanks for the heads up. I guess I'll hold off on the P-07 until the issues are resolved.

FiddleDog send me a pm!

Thanks for the replys fellas!

You've got a PM. Part of me is kicking myself for not getting it, but I ended up getting a g26 just to stay Glock. It's hard to get the taste of koolaid out of your mouth once you take a drink...If I had the extra $500, it'd be mine, I'll tell you that.
