I've been away on the river, back for a little while. Working on the barge for Ingram. Anyways, if you guys seen the barge that hit the bridge in Ashland City, I was on there.

I worked on the Mississippi when I was younger. We hit a bridge once and a big part of the tow broke loose. It was about 2 or 3 in the morning. It knocked me out of my bed !!!!!

That poor bridge has been bashed 3 or 4 times now, in the past year. Makes me wonder if it's really still safe to cross.

Also makes me wonder if Joe Hazelwood got a job as a river pilot... B)

Any injuries? Those bridges just don't move out of the way fast enough some times.

No injuries, except the pilots pride lol. I had only been off tow for maybe thirty minutes when we hit. It snapped all our wires. Sunk a lead barge, but the bridge was fine. Barley even left a mark, go figure. I was just covering a spot for them, my usual boat runs the ohio. I've heard the lower Mississippi is the worst river to ride in general.
