Hello from Murfreesboro. Not currently a gun owner, but wanting to get one to exercise my 2A rights. Havent fired a weapon since serving with the 1/502 (wife's not much into guns). Also wanting to know your thoughts on a good carry weapon. Thinking about a Glock 30 or 30sf, and a good holster. The last handgun I fired was a Govt issue Colt 1911 .45, and I want to stay with the caliber.

Welcome.

I'm a fan of the 1911 compact(officer) size weapons. I have a Citadel Compact that is my daily carry.

Welcome to TGO. You can go to On Target in the Burro and rent a few range guns to try them and maybe find the gun you want... COOP

Howdy and Welcome to TGO :D

So many choices and so little money. Just go and handle as many handguns as you can, fire them if possible, Guns and Leather is a good place with rentals and range.

Go with the one that makes you happy.

Welcome... I carry a RIA M1911 A1 CS...3.5 inch barrel. It's a little heavy but I like it...

Thanks for all the advice. My next question has been answered about where in the Boro I can try some rental guns. Also are the meet and shoots held at On Target as well?

Welcome.

Come to Stones river gun range while I'm there. I'll let you and your other shoot for 16.00 per box. friday 10 to 2 and sunday 1 to 6. Plus range fees.
