Just joined after lurking for the past several months. Enjoy range shooting to improve marksmanship. Only have a S&W J-frame after a recent burglary on 08/31/09. Lost two Glocks and my wife's Walther. Warning to those in Knoxville, home burglary is on the rise. Be careful, I now have a first-rate alarm system.

What part of town are you in? I only ask because my brother's place was robbed a few weeks ago in the Sequoyah area and my buddy's place was robbed in the Western Ave area.

Welcome to the forum, KnoxAl, and I'm truly sorry to learn about your break-in. If you are wanting to replace some of your lost guns, Coal Creek Armory (CCA) has an entire case full of rental guns you can tryout on their range. CCA sure helped me make my decision when gun shopping. Someone might have tried to sell your guns at the gun show we just had at the Expo -- wouldn't surprise me!

I'm in West Hills, but from the newspaper it looks like burglary,armed robbery and home invasion is all over town. Only the drive by shooting are confined to East Knoxville and the projects.

Yeah, it is everywhere. My store is pretty close to you and we have been on high alert. Several stores in this area including the Sports Seasons right across the street from me have been hit. I used to think that certain areas were "safe" but I am realizing that no area is safe anymore. I carry my glock to work every day now. I run a liquor store, you might as well paint a bullseye on my front window. I am sorry to hear about you being buglarized though.
