Obama administration asks Gov. Paterson not to seek reelection in 2010

ALBANY - In a stunning request, the Obama administration has made it clear to poll-challenged Gov. Paterson that the White House would prefer he not seek election to a full four-year term next year.

The Obama administration sent the message through White House political affairs director Patrick Gaspard, who met with the governor at his campaign headquarters for nearly two hours last Monday, according to a source with knowledge of the conversation.

"They expressed concern about his chances about being reelected and the likelihood his presence in the race made it more likely that Rudy Giuliani would enter the contest," the source said. "The preference is that he not run. That message was conveyed directly."

CNN Political Ticker: All politics, all the time Blog Archive - President Obama called Wilder about Virginia governor’s race - Blogs from CNN.com

WASHINGTON (CNN) – President Obama called former Virginia Gov. Doug Wilder about making an endorsement in the state’s closely watched governor’s race, Wilder confirmed to CNN on Monday.

Wilder wouldn’t reveal what exactly was discussed on the call, which occurred “two or three weeks ago.” But he said of the President: “Obviously he was interested in making sure certain Democrats win.”

“It was a good talk, it was a nice talk,” he said. “It’s always good to talk to the president.”

Wilder, a Democrat who became the nation’s first African-American governor in 1990, campaigned actively for Obama in Virginia during last year’s presidential race.

Not like this. They'll usually endorse their parties candidate after the primaries if asked. Of course, imho, we don't actually have a POTUS, we have a POSOTUS (Piece of :poop: of the United States).

The Constitution specifically states that congress shall impeach only for "treason, bribery ot other high crimes and misdemeanors" "High crimes and misdemenanors" had a fixed meaning to the Framers of our Constitution-It meant wrongs commitied against our system of government. The impeachment clause was designed to protect our country against a President who was using his official powers against the nation, against the American people, against our society. Hmmm

In English practice, the term,"High crimes and misdemanor's" had been applied to various offenses, the common elements of which were their severity and the fact that the wrongdoing was direcred against the state. The English case included misappropriation of public funds,INTERFERING in elections, accepting bribes, neglect of duty and various forms of corruption.

I think that one of the reasons I oppose this particular administration is that I've seen it before...to to be more specific, I've seen the handiwork of this type of administration.

Children, so skinny that you can see rib bones plainly, too tired to shoo the flies away from their faces, because they're caloric intake was not that of a healthy child. Walking through a village or town I'd often times people behind shuttered entrances or windows, peering out afraid to be seen because if they're seen, they know they'll be singled out for 'education'.

Men who look at you with downcast eyes, all the pride beaten out of them...afraid to look because they'd lose what little they had and all they had was family.

I've seen this kind of administration. They make up their laws as they go along. If something doesn't go to their liking they 'legislate' it until it does.

yeah..If seen these people's work.

The men SHOULD have been ashamed, not afraid...but their fear kept them from acting when they could have made a difference.

instead of exposing the corruption and standing up to the bullies, they allowed them to flourish. Finally when the bullies were too powerful, they accepted defeat.

Meh.

Vote, people. require accountability of your politicians.

if they don't act responsibly, vote them out.
