I am going to the local pro shop in Memphis tonight and I am going to pick up some scents to put on my drag rag. What do you all use as your scents? With it being this early in this season, I am curious to see what everyone uses when they hunt. Thanks.

Early season, I use "cover scent" and persimmon or accorn attractants (sp). Right now, bucks and does are paying each other "no mind" whatsoever, so therefore, I use not doe or buck scent.

Just squirt yourself (boots and pants legs) with a cover scent, and hit the woods. A drag rag is better suited for the rut.

Get some Red Fox urine and spray it on your boot soles to walk to your stand. Once you get to your stand take a 35mm film bottle with a couple of cotton balls in it and spray some into it and sit it near you. This stuff stinks to high heavens but it is the best cover sent I have ever used. Deer pay it no mind. I have had deer trail me where I walked with this on my boots. You will get mixed replies on doe in heat sent usage during the rut but I have hunted a long time and I have scared off more deer with these type sent that I have attracted. I have attracted some deer with them though. Tinks 69 seems to work about as good as anything.

Nothing! Just get clean and "scrub" your boots in mud or the damp layer under the leaves before you go in. I use neutralizer on the pits and groin area during the bow season as your usually hot and sweaty.

If you haven't seen fox they may not be there. You will also bring in yotes using fox pee now a days if they are around. Yotes will chase and eat a fox in a heartbeat.
