Well, those hogs aren't really feral. But I bet they taste good.

Big south fork has hogs, up north. Or go east to the cherokee mountains or south to the mountains around chattanooga.

In TN any wild hog not in Catoosa or south Cherokee WMA is considered a ferel hog and can be hunted year round (excet some exceptions in Bear WMAs.

From the TWRA hunting guide

Wild boar is defined as any wild hog found in Tennessee on Catoosa

and South Cherokee WMAs. Please refer to the WMA section for

wild boar hunting in these areas (pages 62 and 69).

As far as public lands the guide has this to say.

PUBLIC LANDS (except Catoosa and South Cherokee WMAs)

• Season open during scheduled big game hunts unless otherwise

specified.

I would love to do a archery hog hunt and will some day.

;) . ;) . :D So true, so true. That place is another of those "fenced in" hunts. Or should I say fenced in shoots? Not much hunting involved there.

As has been said, Cherokee WMA has a reasonable amount of pigs. Other areas also are beginning to sprout populations.

Just a thought ... Texas is literally OVERRUN with feral pigs. They are EVERYWHERE out there. And the landowners are practically begging people to hunt them. The problem is, when it comes right down to it they balk about allowing a stranger onto their ranch. My stepson manages a cutting horse ranch near Ft Worth. We have gone out there at least twice a year for the past 3 years. We average 7-8 hogs a day. These hogs are shot near a feeder at daylight and then again at dusk. They're very intelligent and learn quickly to stay out of sight and sleep during daylight hours. IF you could find a contact in Texas that could get you onto a ranch with a hog problem, you'd be in "Hog Heaven" (did I say that?). Browse some other hunting forums, start putting out feelers, and you might be surprised at the invitations you get. I'd set you up myself but the owners at the ranch we hunt are extremely sensitive about who they let onto the property with a rifle (they have horses worth $$$$$$$$$).

Where can I hunt Boar or Feral Hog?

I been in TN all my life and never seen one.

I've hunted from West TN to MiddleTN

Where can I find the info at.

Thanks

sbr

go down to TX...they've got more than they know what to do with :D

they're fair game all year...no closed season. bet you can find a farmer/rancher who'd probably pay you to reduce his population for him...they can really tear up the ground.

(sorry Hidalgo...just saw your reply...didn't mean to repeat what u already said...)

I hunted the Wilderness Lodge a few years back and LOVED it. A lot of their pigs are Russian boar but there are some wild domestics in there that will run you up a tree if you step on one. They have an abundance of turkey, deer and all kinds of weird critters running around too.

Their guide will help with what areas to stalk and if you have a special interest, they will know what or where to look. I jumped a white russian and could not get a shot quick enough and they helped me look for him. That critter knew we was after him and kept low. I only caught a long shot glimpse afterwards.

Nothing but good things to say about the lodge and my experience. They have a cleaning station and offer taxidermy as well.

Don't shoot the weird critters!! They are EXPENSIVE but a blast to watch.

BigShot :P
