.40 Caliber Pistols

My personal favorite for a small .40 is my Kahr PM40, followed by my G27. Both are easy to hide & shoot.

Sig 239, 229 and 226 here, all with 40 and 357 barrels. The 239 is what I carry mostly, the 229 goes in my vehicle and the 226 stays by the bed.

I like the manual of arms for sigs in general and they usually shoot pretty good...

I have a M&P 40 compact and love it. I have owned a Glock 27 also. It too was a good gun, I just like the S&W better.

I've had pretty good luck with the .40 cal walther PPS. It's very compact, highly concealable and is everything I need it to be. It's may be slightly over your $500 budget but you should check it out.

Need some help, I am new to pistols. I have now a Rossi 38 special (CCW) and I am going to buy a pistol next. I know I want a 40 caliber compact (CCW), pretty sure a double action. Up in the air about a safety leaning towards yes. What would be some recommendations. I need to stay in the $500 or less range.

Appreciate any help and ideas.

I LOVE my XDM 40 for everything except cary. I love my Sig P239 .40 for cary and my wife loves her Sig P239 9mm.

IMHO, if you need more than 10 rounds to drop a BG than you shouldn't own a firearrm!

The Taurus PT140 Mil Pro costs about $400, and has a safety on the side. It is probably not as good a gun as an XD, but many people like them. Bud's has them for $361.00....

I have bought a Taurus PT 24/7 Pro C DS.

Got to go and shoot it today and I think for a first time shooter did not do to badly. I managed to get them all on the target lol within the circles and a couple in the center.
