Any gun shops have a good selection of AK-47's?

Anywhere around Nashville or south of town around Franklin? I went by Franklin Gun and they did not have much to pick from. Would like a good quality AK.

Not that I know of. They all seem to have 1 or 2 but not much more. It is a black rifle world we live in.:P

Guns and Leather usually has some. that's were I got my Saiga that i converted. Last time they had some Yugo's, which are quality. Not really as close as you requested, but they are worth it.

Yugo firearms are good..sturdy!

Yugoslavia doesn't have a native deposit of chromium, so they have to use steel. consequently they have to build them stronger than other countries.

good luck finding one though!

You might take a look at that place out in lavergne...I'm having an old age moment and can't think of the name of the place. They've been around a long time and sometimes they will buy 10 rifles or whatever for a bulk order to catch the discount.

Other than that, you're best bet is going to be a gunshow. There was one this past weekend, also in lavergne, and they had several ak's. I'm not shopping for an AK, but if I was, I think i'd get it at a show rather than a walk in dealer.

Specialty Arms is the shop in Lavergne. The gunshow had several AK's but most all of them were overpriced(as was most things at the show it seemed). I would imagine that any gunshop could get you anything you wanted. If nobody has anything you want why not order it online. Here is a few links to AK dealer websites:

Guns and Leather (http://gunsandleather.com/) in Greenbrier is awesome. I have heard good things about Bill(Rabbi) at East Side Gun Shop (http://www.eastsidegunshop.com/). You could also check out the Bill Goodman show at the fairgrounds (http://www.gunshow.net/). I have always felt most of the real deals at the gunshows are from the people walking around. Either way Good Luck:)

The WASR is $329 in the J and G ad in the latest Shotgun News. But if you add in shipping and an FFL charge, you are nearly up to $389. Besides, the local gun shop guy has got to make some profit or go out of business, which would be a bad thing. Yes, I think $389 is OK for the WASR in Chattanooga.

Last time I was there Specialty Arms in LaVergne kept a supply of WASR's on the shelf. They had fixed, side folding and underfolding models. Don't remember the price off the top of my head.

They had a SAR-1 on the used rack, but I snagged that myself. I may have a superfluous WASR soon. Won't know until I have time to take the SAR out and test her.

More about Darr's in Chattanooga. I was in there a few days ago (October 30?) and noticed he now has 4 wasrs, and a very nice side-folder Hungarian AMD65. If my memory serves, he's asking $589 for the AMD65, which seems quite high. Maybe I'm not remembering the price corrrectly. There's also a MAK90 in the Chattanooga classifieds for $450. If I had $450 I'd buy it.
