Thanks SUNTZU!

Magic, no, i won't be there until the 4th. And what kind of car runs at the Petite Le Mans? Sounds interesting...

all kinds. Corvettes, Ferrari's, Porsche's and Prototype Vehicles too like the Audi twin turbo diesels.. I go down almost every year. Best racing in the country imo.

I hope I am not too late to inform yall on some of the laws from my experience. In GA sporting events are considered public gatherings as well as church and stuff. One thing to remember and the way I read the law is thatyou car is always considered personal property, so even though you cant carry in the parking lot I do not believe that extends to your car. When going out to eat make sure the bussiness liecense says restaraunt and not bar carry in restaraunts is legal while bars is not. No consuming while carring and no carring with a BAC of.08 if you cant drive you cant carry. best way for that is go to dinner and have a beer leave it in your car. No publicly owned and operated buildings. Establishments can not make you not carry they can only ask you to leave if they dont want your bussiness. Parks and stuff are fair game also even though some local laws might say you cant carry there state law says they are not allowed to tell you that. 16-11-126 thru 6-11-130 are you main carry laws with 130 being the one that exempts military from 126-128. Also Atlanta airport before security while technically not off limits is off limits and they will arrest if caught. HAve fun and hope I got this info to you in time.

basic rule of thumb I've learned so far that is they are open on sunday, they are considered a resturant (gotta love sunday laws down here :(

seems that the "public gathering" law is completely undefined and there have been some very liberal intrepretations of it in the past.

also even though park carry is ok, the restrooms and other buildings are public owned so they are technically off limits.

that being said I wouldn't drive through downtown without my gun and at least 1 extra mag.

You can carry at Stone MTN now however you are suppsed to inform park police as soon as you arrive and let them know. If you are Mil/LEO you can carry in public gatherings and on school property according to thier law. You can also carry on public transportation however it seems that MARTA has a policy of detaining and verifying you permit if they see you carrying. They are claiming not be to a govt agency but claim they have police powers and because MARTA has a bad crime problem they claim they can suspend your 2A rights. It is being fought in court and they are loosing but they are still fighting.
