Celebration Of Liberty

Saturday, October 17, 2009 - Christiana, Tennessee

Presented by: TNGunOwners.com, The Outpost Armory and Barrett Firearms, Inc.

This event will...

 • Be a joint production of Tennessee Gun Owners, The Outpost Armory and Barrett Firearms.

 • Be held just outside of Murfreesboro, Tennessee on the grounds of The Outpost Armory right near Barrett Firearms.

 • Be held this October on Saturday the 17th from 11:00am - 3:00pm

 • Involve food and activities for the whole family!

 • Have guest speakers, including members of Tennessee's legislature and other elected representatives.

 • Doorprize drawings!

This event is being planned as a way for TGO members from across Tennessee (and elsewhere!) to assemble, meet each other and also meet the elected officials who are shaping policy now and will be shaping policy in the months and years ahead... and to meet in a semi-informal setting much like the old fashioned "Tree Stump" rallies of years past.

Your elected Representatives want to meet with you!

Would you attend? Reply back and let us know!

Also, be sure to download the official event flyer...

I'm adding this new thread (with a new poll) because we now have official flyers and more information is forthcoming in the next week or so regarding the lineup of who will be attending.

As that information is confirmed, I will be adding it to the first post in this thread and then bumping the thread with an indication pointing back to Post #1.

If you all wouldn't mind voting again to RSVP, it would be appreciated by those who will be preparing food for the day I'm sure.

Looks like I need to change my vote, from just me to a friend and I. I recruited another one.

David, would you mind if I re-posted all this information else where?

In fact, your great efforts inspired me to join as a benefactor member of your site. I challenge others to do the same. Thanks again and keep up the good work.

Challenge accepted and completed.

David and the rest of TGO staff, thanks again for all you do and providing this forum and these kinds of events you all are great.

I have spread the word for you on my sites as well. I hope the turn out is really good.

David,

That logo is great. It needs to go on a TGO T-shirt or coffee cup or something.

Shirts are planned, but I cannot claim credit for that particular logo. It is the work of a marketing firm who has been brought in to make sure that this event is produced to the highest level of quality possible. I'm glad you liked it.

Absolutely agree, would love a shirt in that greyish color with the image on the back.

Any news about any companies who've dished out $500-$1000 for a booth at the event?

I do not have that information, but let me clarify: Companies who make their donation to the Rutherford County Junior ROTC are allowed to set up a booth or table or display at the event in exchange for their generosity.

As you may or may not already be aware, the Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps program exists "to instill in students in [united States] secondary educational institutions the values of citizenship, service to the United States, and personal responsibility and a sense of accomplishment."

At the cadet level, the JROTC...

 • Develops good citizenship and patriotism
 • Develops self-reliance, leadership, and responsiveness to constituted authority.
 • Improves the ability to communicate well both orally and in writing.
 • Develops an appreciation of the importance of physical fitness.
 • Increases a respect for the role of the US Armed Forces in support of national objectives.
 • Develops a knowledge of team building skills and basic military skills.
 • Allows the cadets to instantly rank higher if they pursue a military career provided that they participate for 2-4 years in the JROTC program.

So these $500 - $1000 booths that you're asking about benefit some of the finest young people in Rutherford County's school systems. I don't think that's such a bad thing and hopefully neither do the local businesses.

As for the actual costs of the event itself, we can all thank Barrett Firearms, Inc. and The Outpost Armory for signing the check since no one attending will have to pay anything unless they opt to eat a tasty lunch, the profits from which once again go to the JROTC program.

Understood. We have seen several companies express interest but also express their regret for not being able to because of tight budgets. None the less, we're going to have an amazing event and hopefully the JROTC program will still benefit greatly from it.

New member here. If i can get off work that weekend i may attend. Also going to tell a few co-workers and my boss( who is also a HCP holder) about this event and see if i can get them interested.

Also I have a friend in Tullahoma who might be interested in setting up a booth. But i got to ask him soon. Don't know when the cut-off date is for reservations.
