I for one never leave without ID of some sort. I mean really how hard is it to carry a wallet?

Must be pretty difficult. Democrats are dead set against requiring a photo ID to vote, too. I wonder why that is?? <snerk>

Why not a National ID?

I believe there needs to be some middle ground here. People should provide proof of citizenship to get healthcare, however I realize that there may be occasions where you may not have proof at the moment. In cases of an emergency, I don't think anyone should be turned away. This is just showing human kindness. I mean if someone has a broken leg we shouldn't say "Sorry no ID, we can't fix you up, now run along". But if you need cancer treatment you should bring your ID with you, or if you need antibiotics for a cold, I don't think it unreasonable to require you to go get your ID.

Agreed, but the id would have to be un-counterfeitable....totally doable...could just enter your info into a computer at a hospital and give them an eye-scan. Only emergency would not require it before treatment. Got no problem with that. The bill's going to go through a lot more changes...that could happen.

He wasn't lying. The bill specifically excludes illegal aliens--read it.

The fact that you, and others believe he's lying speaks to the power of propaganda and/or your grasp of reality.

Of course there was no authority to check to see if they were illegal. If this wasn't a problem one has to wonder why Congress amended the bill to specifically deny these services to illegal aliens.

Apparently Representative Wilson wasn't in error.

Well, no, Joe Wilson wasn't in error. Obama was (and is) lying about the bill, on any number of issues. The idiot left are playing the race card because its' all they have.

They've lied about the number uninsured, the effect on the deficit, the tax increases that will be required, the cuts to medicare, the coverage of illegals... they've been caught every time. Losers. Worse, they're corrupt, treasury embezzling, tax-frauding, lying losers.

They are hoping that (as they have done so many times before) if they make enough noise, we'll fold just for peace and quiet. They're worse than 4 year olds.

Well, for the next several elections, it's time to spank the baby. Might be a bit easier, too, seeing as ACORN's funding to bus fraudulent votes from polling station to polling station is about to be pulled. As for the Black Panthers 'guarding' polling stations to make sure only the right people vote - well, the justice dept. is going to ignore it. Remember the battle of Athens...

Now that you've purged yourself of rightwing BS maybe you'd like to consider what life in the US will be like if we maintain the status quo re-healthcare? What will your premiums be in 5, 8 years when healthcare cost are 1/3 of gdp? What'll you tell your loved one when he or she is denied lifesaving care? Will you opt for bankruptcy or let them die?

Will you say "at least we kept Obama from succeeding?" I hope that's a big comfort to you when your Karma comes back to kick your ass.

Ralph sez we should disregard all the right-wing fearmongering about the healthcare bill, besides, if we don't pass it, we're all gonna die!! And puppies will be killed, too!

Actually, fearmongering seems to be a favored tactic of this administration. If you don't pass this bill, the economy will crash. If you don't pass this bill, everyone of you will be out of work by the end of the year. If you don't pass this bill, we will destroy the earth. If you don't pass this bill, we'll all die while evil (insert convenient scapegoat here) profit! It's so predictable, it's boring.

Ralph, you just demonstrated that you're a self-caricature, you know that? As for personal attacks, hey, if thats' all you've got, it sure makes your argument (and your character) look pretty weak.

I wouldn't have apologized to anyone. The man spoke the truth, and aside from the libtard media trying to twist it on him, it brought to light the fact that our moron in chief was lying.

Yet, the dims said nothing about Harry Reid calling Bush a liar and loser - repeatedly and refusing to appologize. Yet, the moon bats on the left repeatedly chanted their mantra - Bush lied, people died when it can be proven with exceptional ease, Bush (unlike Clinton) used the data on hand which Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Reid, Polosi, et al used for their comments which Bush repeated, then, unlike the POS' dems, he acted on the data and put the troops to work killing terrorists.

No, both of your assertions are wrong. I believe he is lying because his lips are moving and he is lying. Illegals are not specifically excluded, you do realize he wants to legalize the illegals right?

Until your side shows my side some facts that would justify the degree of animosity you feel toward the President it's natural that people would suspect race as the only explanation. I notice you referred to our Harvard Educated, former college professor President as a "moron." That harkens back to the old stereotype of blacks as ignorant. I don't think you made that connection deliberately....I don't think you can help yourself.

Peace

Bill Ayers, "Rev" Wright, ACORN, wanting a single payer healthcare system, wanting to tax those who generate the jobs, taking over GM/Chrysler, wanting to ruin the economy & country via Cap & Trade, et al.

I do recall your side constantly refering to Bush as a moron when he graduated with higher accolades than Kerry or Gore. FYI, graduating from Harvard doesn't make one smart any more than graduating from a local small college makes one stupid. Supporting things that have been proven to not work on multiple occasions makes one a moron (that would be someone who is a functioning retard). Just so you know, government healthcare is yet to work, the government running a business is yet to work (see post office, social security, medicare/medicade, cash for clunkers, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and a host of others), socialism/marxsism/fascism has yet to work. These are all thing Obama has supported and is wanting to re-try. Not to mention the entire Carter economic & foreign policy ideas.

I fully believe he's as "moral" a prez as America has ever seen, but just goes to show that that doesn't equal effectiveness or wisdom.

He was a lying POS from day one. He was/is one of the least moral POTUS ever. Even Clinton has more moral fiber than Carter.

Carter ruined nuclear power in this country while knowing full well all of his "reasons" were BS.

What do you most dislike about Carter--his work with Habitat for Humanity?, his work for peace in the Middle-East?, the "CAFE" standards (later removed by Reagan) which would established auto mileage standards and would have reduced our dependence on Arab oil? Give specifics if you want to be taken seriously.

What do I dislike?

His constant working for the extermination of Israel and continued backing of terrorists. His constant backing of dictators and somehow every election he "oversees" results in a good fair election with some socialist dictator "winning" even when the country's constitution says he can't run (see Honduras). His CAFE standard which helped cripple the auto industry. His ruining of the US oil industry. His elimination (for all practical purposes) of nuclear power in the US. His backing of the overthrowing of the Shah in Iran resulting in the mess we have today in the Middle East. Double digit inflation, unemployment, and interest rates at the same time.

What makes you think anything done by the Fed would work worth a damn? They can't keep the ID's working for their employees.

Getting the government OUT of healthcare is the answer not giving the government more control. I love the left's idea of breaking the best healthcare system on the planet so we can cover a few people.

12,000,000 people be generous and call it 20,000,000. I can, without trying, using private companies insure that many people for 150,000,000,000. Why pray tell, does the Fed need over 1,000,000,000,000 to insure only 7,000,000??

1. I served in the Army under Carter.

2. I served in the Army under Clinton.

3. During both of those administrations, we had less to work with, less pay, and less morale due to these and more reasons.

4. Jimmy and Bill are the two worst presidents in my lifetime.

Why?

Remember a little conflict called "vietnam"? Where in democrat presidents kept it going, kept it escalating, and made hundreds of millions on the deal? For example; Every bullet, bean and bandaid we got came by Sea-Land transport. Who owned control of Sea-Land transportation during that period? (and may still for all I know).

Jimmy Carter "forgave" all the worthless **** brains that ran away to canada during the war, including his own spineless son who "actually" deserted, he was not a "dodger", he ran like a yellow dog. And he got to live at 1600 Penn. on my dimes that his father was busy stealing from the very pockets of the GIs.

Jimmy Carter let MANY marines and soldiers be killed and maimed in Lebanon and Iran because of inaction, weakness, lack of understanding, and downright cowardice in the face of the enemy. He was not fit then, now, or anywhere in between to be CIC. I know, I was in our ER at 2nd Gen when we got the marines from Beirut. I remember very clearly one young Marine who we tried (and failed) to save because the ONLY piece of skin on his body that wasn't burned was the band around his left wrist where his watch had been.

I personally took care of the Marine who was only alive because he had moved his cot over in front of the window to take advantage of the breeze on that hot night. He got ejected through a window and landed on the roof of a lower "out building" in the compound. I'd dare say he never completely recovered from those injuries.

Would you like to know who the real "heros" were in getting those critically injured marines out of lebanon and back to Ramstein AFB/2nd Gen for aid? It sure as crap wasn't jim-bob.

Would you like to know the US forces (in Europe) reaction to the Iran hostage situation and the Beirut bombing? I know one F4 pilot and WSO that spent over a week in their jet in the "hot pit" waiting for strike orders after Beirut. They literally had to be carried out of the jet.

Carters merciless slashing of training and maint. funding directly led to the debacle in the hostage rescue attempt. (period).

Clinton did exactly the same stuff, but he was just slicker than Carter. Again, we had nothing and no one to do the work necessary and no funding in sight to even try to plan anything. What he didn't give to the chinese, he sold off to the highest bidder. IF you want to have some fun, just do a little research on the situation with him and the hillary-monster re: the secret service post the white house. But you never hear about that.

Both systematically destroyed the countries intelligence world wide and dismantled most of the organizations that let us contain a lot of those anti-US "splinter" groups. His "middle east peace plan" was nothing more than "jews must die" wrapped up in a pretty bow and written in spin-speech.

While I just despise clinton, I truly hate carter. And you talk about audacity; he truly needs to STFU and go home, close the curtains, [removed by moderator].

So there are a few specific "anecdotal" examples of why mr peacehabitatdiarrheabreath carter should be tied to a pole and publicly executed by the surviving beirut marines. A job I'm sure they would still be happy to undertake.

I'm sure there is more that I left out, but this is a case where I had a front row seat for history in the making, and I remember it clearly, and how sad I was for our country and our way of life being crapped on by our own presidents. Needless to say, it ticks me off a bit to have people who don't know the facts reciting other peoples political talking points.

As for healthcare, part of the problem with the cost is the government regulation and meddling in private enterprise (see GM, chrysler, the banking industry, etc). If we got rid of all the non-pertinent regulations of the insurance business, like not selling across state lines, and tying the hands of the people who actually render the care by making them CYA 24/7 over law suits, the problems in healthcare would resolve themselves. JCAHO being the most glaring example of a public/private venture to destroy the quality of healthcare in this country prior to bho.

Dang, you went and got me started...

As an addendum; Ike made a comment, upon seeing the concentration camps in germany, to the effect that he wanted lots of pictures, movies and documentation so some bastard some day in the future couldn't say this didn't happen.

We needed that kind of documentation for those two "never were/has been" presidents. The left is trying it's best to make them heros. Believe me, they are not.

The left is really big on revisionism. As seen earlier in this thread, Reagan (who rescued the carter economy, returned the carter hostages, returned taxes to the taxpayers and managed to win the cold war while doing so) is still a boogeyman for them. His legacy stands as proof that freedom beats their version of socialism. They'll go to any length to deny and re-write the facts.

Shoot, they're trying now to blame the tripling of the deficit on Bush, despite visual evidence of the contrary. Refusing to admit that the housing crash can easily be traced to clinton-championed legislation, corrupt senators running interference for their friends at Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac, and lawsuits forcing banks to grant loans to very poor risks (Obama and ACORN worked hand in hand on that, you might recall).

Wait and see. In their version of history, ACORN will be mourned as a martyr to republican dirty tricks, rather than the criminal organization they've been demonstrated to be. Boy, thats' really gotta sting. :stick:

I don't have time to waste dealing with each and every untruth and misinterpretation of the truth in your posts, but the above is indicative of your general grasp of things. REAGAN was president when the Marine barracks in Beirut was bombed!!! Jeez...

Bob, oh, sorry, Ralph - The situation in Lebanon was DIRECTLY attributable to Carter and his lack of any meaningful leadership and foreign policy.

I'm very well aware of who is president at the time and who was DIRECTLY responsible for the situation. Not Regan, in case your rose colored glasses have obscured the facts.

The fruits of Carter and Clinton are still bearing fruit in the middle east, and the far east, for that matter, and that fruit is very bitter.

I am truly glad you don't "have the time" to tell me what I personally experienced and witnessed. :screwy:

I also happen to think it's hilarious that of all the FACTS I posted, all you could find to nit-pick was who was president when.

Here's a quarter, go buy a clue. (flips quarter)
