Every village needs it's idiot, and he has enough stupid to cover us all. He is useful however; you ask him what to do, then do the opposite. Foolproof.

Yeah, Carter is a complete moon-bat. It's amazing this country survived his presidency.

buk

Yep. We'll see if it can survive his resurrection term.

Obama is the Carter-reincarnate, but with a much more dangerous and delusional agenda.

I think this quote from the link you provided gets to the heart of the matter--

""I think Joe's conduct was asinine, but I think it would be asinine no matter what the color of the president," said Dick Harpootlian, who has known Wilson for decades. "I don't think Joe's outburst was caused by President Obama being African-American. I think it was caused by no filter being between his brain and his mouth."

Harpootlian said he received scores of racial e-mails from outside South Carolina after he talked about the vote on Fox News.

"You have a bunch of folks out there looking for some comfort in their racial issues. They have a problem with an African-American president," he said. "But was he motivated by that? I don't think so. I respectfully disagree with President Carter, though it gives validity to racism."

We can all agree there are racists out there...on both sides.

I don't believe most people who hate Obama are white racists, but it seems obvious that virtually all white racists hate Obama....and a lot of those people have come out from under their rocks since Obama's election. These days most of them are sophisticated enough to know it hurts their cause to use the N word etc. so they employ subtler means.

Also, there are widely varying degrees of racism. ( Suntzu's litte video of a black kid hollering "it's racist" is an example of one of it's subtler forms....not gross or evil, just distasteful--these days there are folks on both sides crying "racism".)

I don't assume that Joe Wilson is a racist, contrary to what Carter contends, however it's undeniable that his outburst "gives validity to racism" as that acquaintance of Wilson's says, and is cheered by racists, among others as the "racial Emails" mentioned above would indicate,. Wilson's grudging apology (to Rahm Emmanuel) and his refusal to apologize to the House, (whose rules were broken in a way never before seen in history,) and his exploitation of the incident as a fundraising tool smack not of racism but of cynical, savvy politics appealing to racists and others.

I wouldn't have apologized to anyone. The man spoke the truth, and aside from the libtard media trying to twist it on him, it brought to light the fact that our moron in chief was lying.

I am tired of people giving their opinions, and then get ridiculed about it. Everyone needs to get over theirselves.

My .gif of a kid shouting "That's racist" (you can research the kid actually shouting that from some television episode, obviously coached, but I digress) is distasteful according to you. The current administration and the liberal politicians and their media constantly calling everyone who doesn't agree with them a racist is A-OK, though. The .gif is representative of the Obama administration denouncing any criticism as racist. I'm glad it annoys you. Sorry that facts seem to do that.

And again, Ralph, you've called ME a racist in your comments. How many personal attacks do you feel you can get away with?

He wasn't lying. The bill specifically excludes illegal aliens--read it.

The fact that you, and others believe he's lying speaks to the power of propaganda and/or your grasp of reality.

Take a deep breath before you post, everyone... take it easy here.

The big flap was over the outburst itself, not exactly what he said. Unlike many other countries, including the generally staid Brits, it is NOT the protocol to shout at the president during a joint address of Congress. Maybe it should be, but it's not.

And of course, he didn't apologize for what he said, but that he said it at all, which seems to me (and to the Prez himself) sufficient.

I referred to your post as distasteful. To discern that you have to have a degree of sophistication, sensitivity and experience. Why is it distasteful? Mocking a black person, particularly a child, for complaining of racism indicates a lack of concern for, or awareness of, the hisory of race in this country (surely you don't deny that slavery, lynchings, separate but equal were racist) A little over 100 years ago that little kid would have been a slave. It also ignores the continuing racial issues facing us. You're young...there's hope. The first step is admitting you have a problem.

Try to be fact-based in your replies. Obama himself has not made any claims of racism over the criticism directed at him...to the contrary.

For you to make such a claim indicates a disregard for the truth, or ignorance of the matter, on your part. Until your side shows my side some facts that would justify the degree of animosity you feel toward the President it's natural that people would suspect race as the only explanation. I notice you referred to our Harvard Educated, former college professor President as a "moron." That harkens back to the old stereotype of blacks as ignorant. I don't think you made that connection deliberately....I don't think you can help yourself.

However, it's equally true that there is no provision to PROVE citizenship, or even legal residency. Just as there is no provision to prove same right now when illegal aliens walk into your local hospital's emergency room. That was tried, but struck down both because of practical considerations (many legal citizens couldn't prove it) and legal ones (liberal federal judges).

Whether any better check on legal status of individuals would happen with a "public option" is anybody's guess - but I would guess there would NOT be.

So, in that sense, Wilson's blurted "statement" may well be true in a de facto sense.

Shouldn't that be "facts you're willing to acknowledge" since you steadfastly disregard any of the many, many posts about why people dislike his socialist tendencies?

Of course you are racist, there

is no other explanation

(Its' gettin' real old, Ralph)

Wilson's statement also seems bouyed by the prior defeat (not once, but twice, I believe) of efforts to place language that would have explicitly excluded illegal aliens. Why resist such language if your real intent is to prohibit, eh?

You called me a racist. Trying to obfuscate that into just saying its distasteful shows a lack of character. You would do well at MSNBC, though.

Try to be fact based in your reply, good sir. Google wondershowzen, I'll wait...Back? Great! Silence is GOLDEN.

A lot of people are claiming racism against Obama, Ralph. Obama needn't say it publicly. If you want to know how he feels about racism being alive and well in America, read one of his books, and use Google. I notice that you can't differentiate on who is calling who a moron. I also notice that I said the Obama administration, yet you still insist on insidiously twisting words.
