M&P work

Been seeing a few tricked out M&P's online from Bowie Tactical and Dan Burwell and was thinking about playing with mine, especially with the trigger. My two questions are these 1) Do any of the local guys do similar work on the M&P? and 2) Before I have anyone customize it, should I send it to S&W Performance Center for their "Action Package" which includes the performance center sear?

just my 2 cents, but i would not send it to S & W for the sear i do think it will be needed, if you are going to send it some where else later.

Bowie Tactical will not do a tricked out trigger i think his limit is 3.5 or 4 lbs.

Dan Burwell has done a couple of 2.5-2.7 triggers for me that are great! very crisp very 1911 like.

the way the m & p trigger is you will have some pre travel or over travel you can not get fully get rid of both. my last trigger job Dan gave ZERO over travel and just a little pre travel at 2.7 lbs. VERY HAPPY

also Dans texturing work was great

As far as trigger weight goes, I don't want to take it down below the 3.5-4 lb point. I actually carry this pistol and get a little nervous if it gets too low.

My question about the sear was I had heard it really smoothed things out but I know S&W will not reduce trigger weight. So I was hoping to get the sear for the smoothness(can you get this sear anywhere but from the performance shop?)and then work on the weight and crispness. Maybe I've got it all wrong, that's why I'm asking for help.

if all you are wanting is a good crisp smooth carry trigger then send it to S & W. but if you are wanting texturing, melting, sights etc then send to Bowie or Dan. this will save you time and shipping cost. the trigger i am sure will be smooth and crisp for carry no matter who you send it too.
