Axelrod Says 'Tea Party' Protesters Are 'Wrong' - Political News - FOXNews.com

The White House has a message to the tens of thousands of protesters who railed against big government during a rally in Washington Saturday: You're wrong.

White House senior adviser David Axelrod said Sunday that the protesters, part of the "tea party" movement, do not represent the views of the broader public when it comes to health care reform. "I don't think it's indicative of the nation's mood," Axelrod said on CBS' "Face the Nation." "You know, I don't think we ought to be distracted by that. My message to them is, they're wrong."

Axelrod said that President Obama has made clear he wants to "build on the system that we have," dismissing concerns that the president is proposing a large-scale government intervention and claiming broad support for the president's plan.

The rally, and others like it, have been billed as "tea parties," part of a movement that takes its cue from the Boston Tea Party and other imagery from the days of the founding fathers. On Saturday, men wore colonial costumes as they listened to speakers who warned of "judgment day" -- Election Day 2010.

FreedomWorks Foundation, a conservative organization led by former House Majority Leader Dick Armey, had organized several groups from across the country for the Saturday event, dubbed a "March on Washington." Some demonstrators specifically protested government spending and health care reform plans. "I'm Not Your ATM," one sign said. Another slogan was, "Obamacare makes me sick."

Some signs, reflecting the growing intensity of the health care debate, depicted Obama with the mustache of Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler. Many made reference to Obama as a socialist or communist, and another imposed his face on that of the villainous Joker from "Batman."

Axelrod suggested Sunday that the more over-the-top demonstrations were representative of a minority view -- the kind exhibited at some town hall meetings over the summer.

"I don't believe that some of the angriest, most strident voices we saw during the summer were representative of the thousands of town hall meetings that went on around the country that came off peacefully, that were constructive, people voicing their points of view," Axelrod said. "You know, one of the great things about our country is people can express themselves even if they're not representative of the majority."

No persons were hospitalized during this harrowing event but one little boy was returned to his parents by police after being lost.

Persons who were infected may be exhibiting anti-government themed signs, with symptoms including: anger, frustration, vocalized aggression including bouts of chanting, singing, and fist pumping.

Emergency legislation was passed in the middle of the night just hours after the outbreak without a vote to implement the MAVP or Mass Aerial Vaccination Program. Vice President Joe Biden and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi released a joint statement saying “It is time to roundup these weeds.”

The CDC or Center for Disease Control is urging any Americans who may be experiencing feelings of freedom and or liberty to seek Government Assistance immediately.

Following the declaration, President Obama posted an announcement on his website stating that “Anyone showing signs of extreme patriotism or critical thinking should be detained, quarantined and flagged for collection.”

Did you read the report? The DC Park Police official estimate, which is what is generally considered the official count, was 1.2 - 2 million. Who cares what pundits of either persuasion estimate? Also anyone ever ask why it matters so much to the lefties to downgrade the numbers as much as possible?

Stories I've read all say that all DC municipal agencies ceased giving crowd estimates some time ago, including the park police. Where did YOU read this story? Maybe one guy on the force said that? I dunno.

Look, I don't care what the number was ... if you can get 100,000 folks together in one place for a political protest seems significant to me.

I've never even seen 100,000 folks together at one time in person, except for a football game.

One can profess the individual innocence of a federal worker. well and good, but because of the policies of a tyrannical government he works for he is complicit in the tyranny.

I don't advocate that our government is now a tyranny, but if half the bills that they want to pass DO get passed, then it will be.

with the 'nerf' of the vote by acorn's voter fraud, one avenue of the people to redress wrongs was removed.

If the right to oppose government policies via the airwaves is removed yet another avenue of the right to redress wrongs will be removed.

If they pass a bill that forbids oral dissent then I would think the final avenue of redress will have been removed and the only thing the government can expect is armed insurrection.

As for the distinction between islamic terrorists and domestic terrorists?

Islamic terrorists seek to change this country into a theocracy and enslave it's people. they are foreigners to our soil and do not care for the welfare of its' people.

Domestic terrorists (just like me) actually love this land and many have lived here for generations, with many ancestors that have paid a high price to see it succeed. They care for the individual freedoms for each citizen and actually care for them regardless of their beliefs.
