Is anyone familiar with this shotgun? A friend from work asked me if I knew much about them, or what one would be worth. I don't, but a brief internet search has turned up about 50/50 reviews on the quality. Has anyone here owned one?

I searched GunBroker, but didn't find much. What are used ones in about 90% condition with a 26" barrel going for?

That's better than I found. Seems like new ones are somewhere between 400 and 500 bucks, which makes me think used ones should run 250-350 or so.

Any comments on quality? I found a few reports of problems with a plastic piece on the front of the receiver, any firsthand experience?

My brother in law has one, has been used for about 3 years in the hunting world with everything from ducks,to squirrels. Not ever had a problem withit. I would say it has had a couple hundred rounds through it last year alone.

I have one from the first year of manufacture. It is setup for turkey hunting. Have not had any problems. Round count is low.

The 935 was built for only 3 and 3.5 inch shells, some say it will cycle 2.75's without trouble. I have never used anything but 3s. The 930 is for 2.75s.

I had one for a while. One of the gas ports in the barrel was not opened up. And there was rough machining in the forcing cone. It was the first and only time I have ever had to send back to the manufacturer. I had numerous FTF/FTE using Kent and Winchester 3.5s.

I got what I paid for- a $400 beater gun. Trying to keep the Berettas and Benellis out of the junk did not pay off for me.

Mossberg did replace the barrel and it worked better, but not 100% so I traded it off.

I have had 835s and 500s and never had this problem so maybe it was a rare circumstance.
