Wow,I was at Bass Pro Shops looking for another 1911 series pistol, primarily a Taurus PT1911 because I have one and really like it,but I wanted to leave my Wilson 22LR Conversion on this pistol,so I was looking for another one to use as a .45ACP range gun(call me weird,I have 1911itis).The bottom price on one that I wanted was $750.00(Wow for a Taurus)my other one was $619.00 a year ago.SOOOO I went to Classic Arms and Lo and Behold a Kimber TLE/RL II for $950.00 with Mepro Night Sights to boot,So guess what.

bass pro should price match other dealers... at a nashville gun show last month many dealers had the taurus in the $600-650 range. Also... right now there are a few nice looking used ones going for way less in the classified section of this site as well.

edit: I just realized you posted that you walked away with the kimber... congratulations!

Bass pro is high on their prices.

+1. I'd never buy a gun there, unless I just couldn't find it somewhere else.

and $750 is NUTS for any Taurus, 1911 or not...:screwy:

glad you got that kimber!!! looks like it shoots great

I snuggle up to my kimber every night. I snuggle up to my wife every couple of months. The kimber never puts on weight. It's nowhere near as loud as my wife. I get to fire it every weekend. It works every time I pull the trigger, and hits the spot every time. It's cheap to feed, and naked and raring to go at a seconds notice. Don't know where I am going with this. Congrats.

The TLE/RLII was my first 1911 pistol. I love that gun.

Mine came with plastic grips though.

This one also came with the black grips, but I remarked to the dealer I liked the grips on a different Kimber in his case,He told me if I purchased the pistol today he would change the grips to the premium Kimber grips,I of course said OK,sold.2 Thumbs up for Classis Arms in Germantown.
