2x the football for the Winger tonight. The Westmoreland Eagles won in a nailbiter by going ahead with 39 seconds left in the game 22 to 20. East Robertson has a running back that is blinding fast. They threw a 40 yard pass on the first play after the kickoff, then with 9 second left this kid broke to the right for ER and was down the side line! Our safety knocked him out of bounds at the 5 to save the game. Then I come home to this!!

Good night of football. I love this game.

I love this game too. Love to watch these Titans. Love to watch my 'Dores and my Vols (a house divided...I graduated from both schools:cool:)...

But like RW, I'd just as soon watch my pee-wee Charlotte Lions rout the Erin Fighting Irish just about any day.

I hear Charlotte has a defensive end / outside linebacker that the coaches sometimes refer to as "the little assassin"!!!

(Pardon me while my chest swells...)

Like it could get any bigger?

I do love my little assassin! And my baby girl. Would love to see him don the Black and Gold on Dudley Field one day!

If you're gonna be a bear...might as well be a grizzly!!!

Great night of football for me. My son's middle school team (MJMS Bears) beat Dickson Co. Middle 48-0 and then I got to come home and watch the Steelers win a close one (gotta love DVR).

Here we go Steelers, here we go!

Good God the Titans gave that one away! Missing 2 easy fields goals? Thats a heatbreaker. Even 1 of those fieldgoals would have won it.. Oh well. its in the books as a loss. Time to retool that pathetic zone defense. Roethlisberger chucking it for 368 yards is embarrasing. Yes we can stop the run. Thats great. Now we need to learn how to play special teams and stop the pass. Its a long season though... GO TITANS!

I look at it this way: First, the Steelers apparently haven't missed a beat since their Super Bowl victory. Palamalu was wicked fast, Roethlisberger was epic, etc. But how often do the Titans play a game like that in the first week? It's been a while, I think. They played a great game against a great team and darn near won it. So I think they're looking all right for this season.

yup. it was a damn dogfight - and in the end it came down to a coin toss. I think these teams will see each other again in the playoffs. I hate losing scaife though, and I know the Steelers cant afford to lose Polamalu for long.

Heckuva game by both teams. Hate the injuries on both side of the ball. Polamalu was a beast last night till he got injured.

Your right about that zone defense. Ben was picking it apart in the 3rd and 4th quarter.

Yea when you have all day to stand back there and look for an open WR you will have big numbers. You cant expect the DB's to keep someone covered forever. We needed to get some kind or pressure on him and make him make a decision faster or sack him.

First let me say that I am a Titans season ticket holder from the beginning and no one wanted them to win more than I did.....but

I hear so many Titans fans complain about how they are not respected by the media around the country. This game tells the reason. They will stand toe to toe with the elite of the NFL and sometimes they will come out on top but not very often. Teams like the Steelers have proved that they are the real deal in big games. They don't always win them but more times than not they will find a way. The Steelers know that they were outplayed last night but look who still came out on top. Last night was just a regular season game but it was big in that it was the rematch of the game that Pittsburg has lost badly. They had the added incentive of defending their Terrible Towels which we had desecrated last year and even with that they were barely able to get the job done. But they did get the job done.

The Titans have had home field advantage thru the playoffs twice now but we still haven't seen an AFC Championship game here because they just don't know how to win these games when it really counts.

Until the Titans can get over that hurdle they will only be pretenders. Even so I will be there to cheer them on and hopefully I'll see the day that they do earn the respect of the rest of the NFL and see them bring a few Lombardi Trophies back to Nashville.

GO TITANS!!!

Well. I dont think Titans fans can cry no respect much anymore. We kicked off the preseason with the HOF game in Canton and now the NFL season opener against the world champs. I dont know too many other teams that have had that honor in the past...
