Not sure if this belongs here or under gunsmithing...

Just wondering if any of you Kahr owners out there have had the polymer(?) guide rod in the recoil spring assembly replaced with a stainless one...

I honestly think they seem a little, well, cheesy - the end of it where it slightly protudes from the slide on my MK9 is a little chewed up, just from regular assembly, but otherwise seems fine. The replacement stainless rod seems like a good idea, except Kahr notes on the MK series they need to be "fitted" and I don't want to mess with something that otherwise isn't broken.

My PM9 has all metal guide rod.

So, all metal MK series, which was made BEFORE the plastic PM series, has polymer rod, and my half polymer PM series has all metal.

I find that to be a rather strange factoid.

That is strange, OS. I found a forum on www.glocktalk.com that discusses kahrs so I'm going to do some reading there, maybe ask the same question.

I'm not really worried about it, but like most looking to make my personal defense weapon the best it can be. I'm in love with mine, but you know how those romances with firearms go... ;)
