So over the past month my laptop was broken (culprit is still out there). and the wife is gone, so this past week I was bored and decided to strip this rifle I've had a a few months. It is a Russion M38 imported by Aztec metal is in really good shape. but the wood was in bad shape, lots of dried up cosmo and whatever finish it had. Did not have the proper facilities to do everything. It came out better than i had expected. the wood was really blonde, so i decided not to stain it and instead let Tru-Oil do the trick of darken it a bit. here for your viewing pleasure.

So the M38 you have is an earlier carbin model? Nice job on the refinishing, mine came out light like that when I refinished it.

The date stamp says 1944 so i guess not that old? the fisrt couple iof people i showed it to were like oh nice looking k98, and then they were like wait what( cuz of the light stock color)
