The last time I was there at the end of June they were not however with all the Hoopla on July 14th, who knows now. Sorry I can't be more help.

I passed by there the other day. I want to say that I saw a sign but I could be completely wrong.

I didn't want to call and "plant a seed".

^agreed. but say you have to draw your weapon and defend yourself and it turns out the restaurant you were in is a no-carry restaurant, do you get charged with a misdemeanor and lose your permit?

it's only a no carry restaurant if it's posted.

No

39-17-1322 Defenses.

A person shall not be charged with or convicted of a violation under this part if the person possessed, displayed or employed a handgun in justifiable self-defense or in justifiable defense of another during the commission of a crime in which that person or the other person defended was a victim.

If the LEO feels it is self-defense you probably won't even be charged. But even if you are charged, if it is ruled you acted in self-defense you shouldn't be convicted.

I'm not really concerned about that. If I wanted to carry regardless I would. It's more not wanting to support a business that discriminates against me.

Also, I wouldn't just leave it in the car since they have valet parking.

Interesting.. so correct me if I'm wrong, but its illegal to carry into a restaurant properly posted banning guns, but if you do it anyway and are forced to defend yourself with it, you are exonerated from the original infraction?

That's pretty much correct.

wow. kinda counter-intuitive, isn't it?

I guess they don't want to add insult to injury. :D

Besides, restaurants being able to ban carry is :koolaid: anyway.

Not the way you have phrased the question. There would have to be extraordinary circumstances surrounding your use of the handgun.

Carrying where posted is a loser move. Illogical and ill advised. Posted is posted. Still doesn't answer the question about the Palm.

So when a business has a sign that says, "Management not responsible for any accidents" and something happens to you or your property, that is the Management's fault, your not going to sue because of some sign that carries no legal weight?

I just walked by there, they are posted. The letters were very small so I didn't check to see if the signage was legal. We know how they feel about RKBA and I wouldn't want to give them any business.

Thank you Jeff. I appreciate both the effort and the info. ;)

It seems as if alot of the downtown resturants are posted now. What do you want to bet it's got something to do with a Downtown Business Asscociation or something like that spreading the fear.

Also, funny how I can carry legally in their Tampa, Miami or Orlando locations and not here at home :D.
