Not only NO...but Oh hell NO....a ONE term Senator? Look what we are dealing with right now. From what I've seen of Mr Corker...he's BARELY better than Lamar...Lamar at least We know which way he'll vote...Corker waits until he see's a consensus then VOTES with the majority. I don't trust the little SOB

That is my thoughts exactly! If He is the best that we can do we are still going to be in world of hurt.

No thanks!

It should speak volumes that a candidate who can't carry their own state in a primary (like I don't think Corker would) is a disaster on a national scale. A la Gore 2000, anyone?

whoever it will be, I believe it will be someone not yet on the national scene.

There is not one person from the last election cycle I will bother going to the polls to vote for.

I believe the Repubs only chance is to come up with a Hispanic candidate.

The "two party" system has become the tyranny we have today.

You can't fix it by continuing to elect "the lesser of the two evils".

What may seem so drastic right now with DeBama's shenanigans all just becomes homogenized into the overall scam over time.

The Dems and GOP have merely become place holders for each other; the winners laugh out loud at the deception and I think the losers even giggle a little, knowing they're still in the game.

Our election system has become so perverted, that by the time a candidate actually becomes electable, he's unfit to serve because of the corruption that got him into that position.

You nailed it, Chief.

Very insightful.

As of right now, the only acceptable candidate that I can think of is Ron Paul. I don't agree with everything he says, but he is the exact opposite of what we currently have. And he is the only member of either party that I believe is genuinely interested in limiting the federal government to it's Constitutional role. A lot of politicians pay lip service, but he is the only one that comes to mind who has consistently backed up his talk with his vote.

Well, he can't do that without a cooperative Congress. Which he most certainly won't have. When he starts in with his nonsense about dismantling the Federal Reserve, he shows his ignorance of the financial system and what the Fed does. It makes him sound crazier than a Texas ****house chicken.

Great, one of the few pols still walking upright who's OLDER than McCain.

New blood indeed, but he'll be the one likely to need it.

HexHead is right about Congress. If we change them, they'll stop whoever's in the oval office, if we keep them, a new president won't help. The focus needs to be on 2010. It's time for some major retirement parties in D.C.

Rumor? :)

I heard mention of maybe Sean Hannity looking at running for FL Governor in 2010 so that he would have a shot at the White House in 2012. I don't know if there's any truth to that whatsoever, but I've heard it more than once. I think he's too far right for a lot of the country, but I would vote for him. If he takes up residence in FL then it might be believable.

Corker would put people to sleep...

No matter who the Elephants run, It wont suit the mainstream media. The media controls everything that goes on in this country. I hate em with a passion! They are all biased. I still say Palin was the only choice for the big chair. I was hoping she would drag the old fart from arizona into the winners circle and then he would croak! But the Chris Matthews and Katie Curics rode that poor old gal into the ground! They made her a laughing stock in this country! I mean, My God! Look who was elected. Hes not even an American citizen! That right there goes against all that is Holy in this country. I know how the Californians felt now when they were all saying, Bush might be your President, But he aint mine! It just makes me sick! I cant believe what this country has come to. Rant Off.....Thanks, Jack

What about Bobby Jindal (Gov of LA) for President in 2012? I've heard really good things about him.

Thoughts?

Does anybody remember the Sundquist income tax? I had some friends in some rather high places during that administration and they all said it was Corker's idea.

While I believe that he is far better than anything on the democratic side, I still hope that there is a MUCH better choice that him. Let's pray that we have a better choice than Corker.

The truth is that I'll vote for any Republican over BHO, at this point. I just hope we have better choices. If we can keep Romney and Huckabee from splitting the conservative vote this time (that's how we got McCain, in case anybody doesn't know) or something similar, we may end up with a good candidate on the GOP side.

I'm really more of a Libertarian, but usually vote Republican and if pressed will declare myself as one. While, I don't like the two party system, I understand it. I also understand that half a loaf is better than no loaf. I also am aware that every vote I give to a third party is in effect giving a vote to the Dems.
