Instead of getting the Lee Pro 1000 get the Lee LoadMaster, you'll be glad you did, much much better Progressive Press. Before I done a Modifcation to my Lee LoadMaster I was loading 400rds a hour, after

my Mod. I can load 600rds per hour !!!!!!!

I bought the Lee ann. kit with .38 spl carbide die set in 1992. Found a small heavy frame roll around cart. Added a top and cabinet to it and mounted the press on it. I started out shooting and reloading about 200 rd. per week. Not that it took me all week to reload them, just a few hours. I built another cart when I met Flutterby so we could reload at both homes. I bought another press and set of dies for this bench off of ebay. We are shooting and reload 400 to 1,000 rds. per week now. The bench can be hid in the closet and brought out when in use. We move it and watch tv while reloading. Just about the only time we watch tv. I have a Lyman 2 cav. 358 120 gr. rn mold, Lee 6 cav. 358 158 gr. swc mold and Lee 10-5 production pot. Along with a lot of sinker molds. So a lot of time spent casting, lubing and swagging. Casting is done outside. Yes, we reload in the house. We keep a dry clem fire ext. and a bucket of water by the bench.

I use the Lee classic turret, and have been very pleased with it, if you go with lee buy the better powder measure with the round hopper, and the mico adjuster, it works way better that the discs for pistol. I also have a Redding turret that works great. If you go with a progressive, if you go lee, get the loadmaster, I have heard bad things about the 1000, but then I have never used one.

I started on a RCBS single stage press. About six months later I got a LEE 4-hole turret press. I'm extremely happy with it. You can order additional turret plates for $7-10 IIRC to set each one up with different calibers. Then when you want to load for other calibers just switch out plates. Don't have to screw around with removing dies and resetting them every time you want to load a different caliber. Just pop it off and put another one on and rock out.
