Refinish Baer Custom S.R.P.

I have a Baer Custom S.R.P. with 2 -14 round magazines that I've used for

years and its showing a lot of holster wear.

I've been told that there were less than 300 of these made with the Baer slide on the Para-Ordanance double stack frames.

With that in mind, would it be best to keep it with worn finish or send it

back to Baer and have it reblued and if I did, would it hurt the collector value of this pistol.

I hate to make it a safe queen due to collector value because its by far the best 45 range gun I've ever owned but,it may be time to put it aside and drag out a Gold Cup or something.

Any thought on this?

Unless you plan on selling it, I'd leave it as be. I love seeing worn 1911's, gives them character and show's they've been busy doing what they were meant to do.

I kinda agree with Hatmaker on this one. Character is tons better than a new finish as long as the gun in it's current state, isn't in so bad of shape that further use of it will end up getting you killed. Harsh TN climate can do that kinda thing to a gun....:screwy:
