It was recently brought to my attention that this date is the annual Tennessee - Alabama football confrontation. :)

If this is discouraging some of you from enrolling who would otherwise be interested in attending, I am open to a reschedule.

I am very interested......let me know if the date changes. It does not make much of a difference to me as I am pretty flexible.

Here's what a couple of TGO members and General Defensive Shotgun alumni have to say............................

I attended this class yesterday, and had a great time. This was not a "Tactical" class, but concentrated on things useful to a civilian who is defending his home with a shotgun. Plenty of rounds downrange without completely destroying your shoulder, but some good discussion time as well. I found Bo Alexander's attitude about training very helpful. He doesn't claim to be the "Yoda" of shotgunning, nor to have invented the pump-gun, but presented a great deal of information and showed a wealth of knowledge about the subject matter. He introduced me to a new concept: The OODA (Observe, Orient, Decide, Act) Loop, which I found very interesting. More info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Boyd_(military_strategist)#The_OODA_Loop

We did lots of shooting with various types and brands of shotgun ammo from Birdshot to Slugs, at different ranges, to see how each gun patterns at various distances with different ammo. Very educational. Some lesson learned: It's hard to unsafe a Mossberg with a pistol grip, Remingtons shed tactical lights after about 100 rounds, :screwy: and always use locktite on your Sidesaddle screws. Last and probably most important, two layers of Drywall WILL NOT stop #4 Buckshot at 12 feet. Think about it.

Great class Bo! Thanks.

All,

I Just wanted to give a big thumbs up to Bo at Safety South for his shotgun class. I learned a lot and had a ton of fun. I was a shotgun noob prior to the class. Sometimes you don’t know what you don’t know until you seek proper instruction.

Would recommend to all.

Thanks Bo!

OK, ready for this to happen and just to jinx us, it looks like the weather is going to be good...

I had to search around a bit but I am now in possession of 6 different types of slugs and 6 different kinds of 00 buck.

Some high end, some medium, some cheap, and some low recoil. Don't know if I will get to try them all out or not but I wanted to do as many comparisons as possible.
