The Blackhawk is a mighty fine pistol. OhShoot's convertable makes for some good times.

I honestly had forgotten how massive Blackhawks are. Have not shot one in many years. Big, solid, extemely well made guns.

It does take some getting used to though. So used to Smith revolvers and semi-autos now. SA is a whole other style of shootin'.

If I had my choice between a Ruger Vaquero and any other, most likely the Ruger would win.

if you're wanting a Colt-clone, for nostalgia/history/etc, get the Uberti...

if you're wanting a "using gun", get the Ruger...I've been really happy w/mine. I have the old model you can shoot hot loads in...I won't be parting with it, ever... :)

PS - I've had a Blackhawk too...I definitely prefer the Vaquero, but that's just my personal preference.
