Obama speaking on video: "We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."

The White House will not answer Glenn Beck's questions about what does this really mean and from whom/what is the security force "protecting" us. It has been funded with $5 billion of our tax dollars.

Those who do not know history are destined to repeat it. Seems I recall a group of "organizers" called the Sturmabteilung (SA) forming in Germany sometime around 1925. We all know how well that turned out for Germany.

guess he's figuring he needs an "anti coup" squad that will take orders directly from him. Probably figures when push comes to shove, the military won't be on his side or worse.

He certainly is setting it up with his comments/position on Honduras. His Honduras position could translate into his actions in the US, and I can see him saying....... " I was duly elected by the people of the United States of America. They voted for me not the constitution. You can't throw me out no matter what."

Glenn Beck is indeed the man. He has actual feelings and is not afraid to show them. He has faults and is not afraid to admit them. He is a personal hero of mine.

(edit) Yes, this is not necessarily news, but some might not know about it.

Obama? He mentioned this "new internal security force" during the Presidential campaign....obviously he has not given up on it however.

I heard Neal Boortz talk about this today and I am just a little suprised that these guys (Boortz/Beck) hadn't talked about this before. Someone posted a thread about it when it happened.

How about we simply reaffirm that the militia is comprised of every able bodied man. We can add a restriction to those who are legally able to purchase a gun.

Tennessee still has a militia statute on the books...

Title 58 Tennessee Code Annotated

58-1-104(d) states the militia shall be comprised of all able bodied male citizens of Tennessee who are 18-45 years of age and not otherwise already engaged in the military service.

58-1-301 gives the governor the ability as I understand it to call up the militia at any time the public safety requires it.

58-3-305 gives the governor the ability to transfer the militia in whole or in part into the national guard and treat it under the National Defense Act.

Yes, this statement was made prior to the elections. However, if you watched Beck's series last week, he discussed that the $5 billion has now funded this movement. That's the news here. I haven't been able to confirm Beck's statement about the funding as of yet, but I haven't found Beck to give much incorrect information in the past. When he has given incorrect information, he has always stepped up and corrected it, as far as I know, unlike the other "Obama news channels".

I remember hearing about this months ago...I saw the video of Obama saying that during the campaign. Wondered then what he meant and can't help but think back to the civilian force that Hitler had...what were they called? Oh yeah, Gestapo. Think about it. The constitution puts some very strict limitations on a national force like that..that's why the FBI has such strict rules on what kinds of cases they can get involved in directly...and also why the CIA can't legally operate here.

I also like Glenn Beck. I have been listening to him for years and now watch him on Fox every night...I record his show so I can watch it after work.

These 2 are why our selection of the next Governor is so important. We need someone that won't buddy up with the feds over the rights of TN citizens.
