Botach Tactical Customer Service

Recommended Posts

Posted

As some of you know, I'm in the market for some new boots. While searching around for options and pricing, I came across a company, Botach Tactical. Though they appear to be a very well-known seller of tactical gear, I knew very little about them.

I was shocked and appalled and what I read. And it wasn't difficult to find. Knowing a great many of their customers are likely to be our men and women of the Law Enforcement and Armed Forces communities, reading some of these stories made me sick to my stomach. A good number of stories I had a chance to read were in fact written by members of LE and our Miltary. More than a few were/are stationed overseas.

To keep from typing it all over again, more details can be read in the email I sent to the folks at Botach Tactical.

To whom it may concern:

I am in the market for some tactical items when I stumbled upon your site. What I found was very disheartening and a real shame.

Knowing a vast majority of your potential customer base is likely to be our dedicated men and women of Law Enforcement and our Armed Forces, it's a disgrace that your company is so able and willing to offer them such horrible customer service.

These horrifying reviews couldn't have been easier to find. This is true even for someone who wasn't looking for them. All I did was type "Botach Tactical" into my search engine, and what do you know? On the first page, multiple complaints pertaining to Botach Tactical and your less than desirable business practices. Not only that, but my search engine also suggested I try "botach tactical complaints". That is ultra-scary and disturbing to a potential customer.

I've searched a countless number of your competitors in the past, and I can honestly say that I've never run into anything that even remotely comes close to the disturbing information I've read about your company. I'm fully aware that every company has less than satisfied customers, but I've never seen anything on this level. Never have I seen sites/forums dedicated to such heinous customer service towards anyone, let alone the men and women who put their lives on the line to keep us safe.

I am a member on countless webites and forums whos main audience are those involved in Law Enforcement, Military, Firearms, etc. Though some of them may have already heard about just how repulsive your customer service has been towards the men and women of Law Enforcement and our Armed Forces, I am making it my mission that those who don't already know, do know.

Based on some of the complimentary posts that have so obviously been made by someone within Botach Tactical, I'm sure you all are well aware of at least some of theses sites. Just in case, here is just a few.

None of the above mentioned links get into your shady involvement of the story talked about at the link below.

Similar links and stories seem to be virtually endless, and since my mouse finger is also my trigger finger, it's a good idea that I allow it some time to recuperate. You never know when those zombies will come-a-knockin'.

Regards,

Someone who now knows better than to take a chance buying anything from Botach Tactical

I have cancelled several orders with them in the past but did get a few good deals back in 06. They really seem to have fallen off as they got more popular. The ownership apparently is making enough money that they don't feel the need to increase staffing to work through this.

I don't even bother ordering from them anymore.

It strange, a buddy of mine and I have ordered from Botach at least a dozen times between us, and never had the slightest problem. If you mention their name on Arfcom they'll go ape:poop: in a second. Maybe we got put into the "good" file or something. I haven't bought from them in the last couple of years, and probably won't anytime soon. Sounds like they're circling the bowl fast.

I've read more than a few positive comments about BT. I am also well aware of the fact that most customers are more outspoken about a company when something goes wrong. But I still stick by the fact that I have never seen so much negativity towards a company as I have with Botach Tactical.

I have had the same horrible experience. Avoid them or you will be sorry.

I have placed about 6 orders with them and never had a problem. May not buy anything else from them in the future once I read all the info but as far as ordering and getting product I have never had an issue.

I have placed a couple of orders with them a long time ago and didn't have any problems. I think the problem occurs when it's something they don't have in their stock and they have to get it from the manufacturer. The guys that own it are Israeli. If you look really had there is some huge thing from a few years ago where Cousin or Nephew of those guys had a military contract for ammo in the sand box and they sent a bunch of crap ass 50 year old chinese ammo over there. there is a lot to that story though and I don't have the time to find all the articles about it right now. off to work. If you really want to know let me know and I will find the story about it when I get home tonight.

Because I'm all about fairness, here is a response I got from BT.

I still stand by my opinion, and this email even confirms at least one of my suspicions - they are selling items they don't even have in stock. If you don't have an item in stock, state as such on your website and inform those customers who phone-in orders. Simple as that.

It's probably safe to say that many - if not most - of their negative reviews are due to selling items they don't have in stock. I read more than a couple reviews where they were told the item was in stock, but later found that to be untrue.

A company that has "well over 640,000 orders completed on record through their website" should have no problem affording and utilizing the necessary software to keep track of their inventory.

Nonetheless, here's what they had to say.

Good Day,

We are fully aware of chatter and posts on the Internet.

As the web is a public venue with no oversight in regards to truth, anyone can post anything they like, true or not.

We work closely with Law Enforcement personnel from local, state and federal agencies every day here at our location and via our website.

We are a GSA contractor and are proud of our record with Govt sales and support of our troops both here and abroad.

We have well over 640,000 orders completed on record through our website. And continue to serve our customers to the best of our abilities and are always improving.

Are we perfect? No. We like others in this business have problematic orders from time to time due to delays in production or shipping from manufacturers to us etc.

I take pride in my work here and am good at what I do.

I am also a Law Enforcement firearms instructor and have worked overseas for many years.

I will wrap up here by mentioning I and We have no involvement in anything "shady" and I assure you if there was any basis to your allegation we would have answered for it to a higher power.

As for your plan to "make it your mission to let those who don't already know, do know" I am curious how a person who has never ordered from us intends to throw gasoline on the Internet fire although you apparently have nothing to actually add, as you have no experience with us.

By the way, if ever you do need good gear at great prices, let me know and I will be happy to serve you as I do my many many repeat customers day in and day out.

Best Regards,

Jeff Hewitt
