Looking for a more open range

I am specifically looking for a range that will allow me to do more draw and shoot or move and shoot practice. ive got a couple different ranges that i attend but they are the typical leave your gun on the table and shoot 1 round at a time.

i am an experienced military policeman and have done lots of combative shooting but havent been able to find a civilian range that will allow me to do the same. i know there are shooting competitions and such but i would prefer my practice time to not be in a competition. i will move to that as well but would prefer to have more fun and get more out of my training time.

any ranges i should be looking at in middle TN? shooting clubs i should join?

Terry Walden's Range in Manchester will alow you to do that as its an outdoor range and there isnt a "Range Officer" per say that monitors anything. Just dont do anything stupid ad you should be fine.

Maury County Gun Club has three separate pistol ranges and allows holster work.

Manchester, TN off 16h Model Rd. I24 exit 105, head towards Manchester, turn right on 16th Model Rd. There is a sign, I think it's about 1.5 miles down the road.

Yeah I would recommend Terry Walden's. Great guy and fair pricing.

Anybody know what the cost is? and if he has ammo at the range?

I think its like $5 per day IIRC. And yes he stocks a limited amount of ammo at his shop.

I would suggest bringing your own ammo, as sometimes he may not have the caliber you need...

$5 a day, all day (dawn til dusk) 7 days. IF the shop is closed, put the $5 in a honor system box nailed to the shop, by the door.

FYI: Call ahead (931) 728-0223, particularly on weekends, as they have a pistol group that has matches.

It ain't a pretty range, but it will do. 50m pistol, 300m rifle. No shotguns without approval.
