Georgia Arms ammo

At the range today I shot about 80 rounds of Georgia Arms 230GR .45 ball ammo today. Every casing had about a 1/3 of the casing was charred. Is that normal for Georgia Arms? It didn't affect how the gun shot, I'm just curious as to why.

No I didn't keep any of it, because I don't reload. I tried rubbing the black off and some came off but it was definitely charred a little. Does Georgia Arms use a coating on their casing that could of burned? When I shoot the rest I'll keep some and take pictures.

It sounds like Georgia Arms sells once-fired reloads. What you're describing is the natural discoloration of the brass from previous combustion cycles. Atlanta Arms ammo is the same way. Often you'll find brass of many different colors in one box.

I shoot alot of Georgia Arms ammo... The only caliber which I've ever had problems with was .45acp. The casing discoloration is normal for bulk reloads, but won't cause any problems... It's improper sizing that messes with feeding and extraction, in my experience.

I've put several thousand rounds of G-A .357sig through my XD and Sig, with zero issues of any kind.

It didn't cause any problems with my gun I was just curious if that was normal for factory reloads or Georgia arms in particular.

I've been shoot 9MM Georgia Arms for years and never had an issue.

no harm though. as long as it's accurate, feeds well and isn't hurting your firearm, I see no reason to worry.

The GA reloads in 45acp seem to be one of the best bargains in bulk ammo for the caliber. Is there a general consensus regarding reliability?

In my experience:

9mm - 500rd - 100%

.357sig - 3000rd - 100%

.45acp - ~600rd - 98% (had a few cases fail to feed in my wife's Rock Island 1911, maybe a dozen... every other brand has been 100%)

Their SD ammo is first rate as well... I've begun to buy it instead of Double-Tap. I can get 200rd of 115gr +p+ 9mm or 125gr .35sig for half to a quarter as much as the big names, and it's loaded to high velocity with Speer Gold Dot bullets.
