Since you jumped into the convo (as i wasn't typing to you)...you have MISSED the point...I was asking WTH because eyebedam said we shouldn't BASH wal-mart...I was just messin with him. :):drama::D Glad you came to his defense though!!!!

I apologize if you think I was giving you crap or coming to the defense of anyone; I can assure you I was not. I simply thought from your post you had a source better than Wal-Mart and I was asking about it.

Walmart has stayed steady for a long time. No sense in bashing them now. There probably still cheaper than most sources.

Yep, even with a $5 increase they're still cheaper than most places. They probably didn't sell as much school supplies nationwide as they thought they would, so they figured they could make up for it with ammo...:)

Mentioning in OP that the ammo is not WinClean would be a start.

 It was not a great deal of other things as well. Should I have mentioned everything it was not? :screwy:

It was not Jacketed Hollow points

It was not Federal

It was not Remington

It was not . . . . . . .

My local Walmarts haven't had ant 45ACP ammo in months. If I need some, I'd pay the extra amount.

I guess Walmart is not allowed to increase prices.

In further news the price of milk also went up.

At least they did not double the prices like one sees at gunshows

.40 is up to $13.97 for Federal. Still a good price.

picked up a few boxes 9 federal today at Wally World. Still 6 box limit and the price has increased from 8.97 to 9.47 per box of 50. Now I see why some vendors at gun show figured they could charge 25.00 a box, they had to make up for the .50 cent increase! :) :)

Most everything is going up. Considering that ammo has been in short supply for so long, i'm quite surprised that it has not gone up more (supply and demand).

My grip is that salaries are not going up.......

Everything I have heard and read has stated ammo prices would be headed and will continue to rise. Some of this may be due basic economics: supply and demand; commody prices (lead, copper, etc...) I met a guy from Africa who told me the Chinese have been buying up hugh amounts mineral rights there, but I don't know if or to what degree that impacts ammo prices.

Did some shopping around today, didn't score much but watermelons.

Noted that the Win 9mm VP were only $20.97 on Signal Mtn. Blvd wallyworld, as per the above these were $21.97 at the north Cleveland store.

Saw the Blazer/Federal 9mm did indeed go up only 50 cents to $9.47 as mentioned above.

One store I saw had a new tag for the Win 9mm VP that reflected a price DECREASE to $17.97. They didn't have any ammo, and I bet a dollar to a donut it'll be at least $20.97 if/when they get some in.

I agree, wallyworld sells ammo cheaper than most gun shops can buy it, and it's still a good deal. But a $5 increase per box seems am excessive increase to me. I saw on another forum the 45 VPs only went up $3 at MI wallyworlds.

As far as reloading goes, I haven't seen primers (quality primers) available on line or at suppliers in months. Can't reload without primers, so what is the big advantage?

ammo prices in walmart, will fluctuate i would expect as they are changing their mods for differnet seasons of sports like hunting, so will the prices, you can always call 1-800-WALMART and voice a customer opinion, this is probably the fastest way to bring the prices down, that and not shop that item, i know if no sales are recorded for 90 days it will flag item in corp. and will drop just as fast, i used to be a department mgr there for 7 years so trust me on that one. and don't forget if you have an printed ad from a competitor they have to beat it in the local area. even if it is a loss to walmart. but some stores will only give you the difference up to 3$ some will do it anyways if a stink is made with a mgr. so take names, corp will contact store with in 30 min of report and start eating a$$e$
