Where is the best place to buy C&R rifles in the Nashville area. I am looking for a good rifle I can restore and enjoy shooting. Probably looking for a good deal on a 91/30 or possibly an enfield in bad shape but with good like bore. I looked at Franklin gun shop the other day, they had some good looking rifles, but still a little more than I was planning on spending. Thanks for the advice.

AIM surplus, J&G, Classic Arms. All the C&R guns I have seen in local shops are grossly overpriced and look like they have been thrown around like cord wood. Go to the previously mentioned sites and order whatever you like. Then go to SurplusRifles.com and spend a few months learning from all the enthusiasts there.

thanks for the info guys. I will be at guns and leather on the fifth taking my permit class with my brother so I will definitely check out your stock. I looked around at various websites today too and found an enfield with a cracked stock for 150. which is an awesome deal but after I pay transfer fees and all that I could get one without a cracked stock probably, and for that good of a price crack probably means assembly required.

hopefully you guys at G&L got something I am looking for up there. If not I guess I got an excuse to get a C&R ffl. :tinfoil:

Yeah, the FFL will save you on the transfer fees. If you don't have your C&R, then Guns & Leather have had some very fairly priced Mosins.

I got FOUR of them from Guns and Leather, it was a few months ago, I paid $130 each for two of them, and then a few weeks later $120 each for the next pair. For better or for worse, I have exclusively bought my guns from those guys. I like keeping my money local. Their 7.62x54r prices are silly though;)

I went into The Outpost down in Christiana for the first time and they had quite a selection of C&R stuff, M1's, Springfields, Enfields, Mosins, and I even saw a couple SKS's. I didn't really look at the prices much (they were about to close) but they looked to be in pretty good shape.

I've purchased two Mosins from Outpost and they were both nice Hex models. It's the luck of the draw, like looking for a needle in a haystack. Look for a nice stock and tight bolt.

It's been a while since I've been there, but the Reloaders Bench in Mt Juliet had a bunch of C&R rifles when I was there. Enfields, K-31s and Mannlicher-Carcanos. Prices seemed reasonable.
