If the above guy doesn't work out, you can always try Jeff Meister at Hero-Gear in Winchester. A bit of a drive, but I've seen his work, top notch. (931-962-4376)

Jeff Meister +1 He has worked on my Kimber. Hero Gear is awesome. If you don't want to spend a lot of money on toys better leave it all at home, because you are going to want everything in the place.

Thanks. Looks like I need to go for a visit to HG.

It'll be worth the drive, trust us.

If you want an old school, 30+ years experience, no other caliber 'cept those that begin with a 4 and end with a 5 type 'smith, you need only drive to the NW end of Cleveland and see Bob Randolph at The Gun Works. His sign fell down a few years ago, he never bothered putting it back up, he's got decent business without it. He's got customers who drive 2+ hours to have Bob do their 1911s for them.

Beware though, Bob's a real even-tempered guy. He stays mad all the time.

I have also heard through the grapevine that he is one of the best.

Thanks for the info. I have a Kimber Pro-Carry that needs the ejector tweaked and I'm too much of a sissy to mess with it. No failures but out of a 50 rnd box I will have roughly 4 spent cases come back and whack me in the forehead. I'm not limp wristing and it happens with Wilson 47D and Kimber mags.

By the way, just had Robar put a NP3 coat on her. It is friggin awesome. Needs little oil and shows almost no holster wear.

That's an odd endorsement. I don't care how good someone is at their craft; if they are unpleasant to be around, they won't get my money.

Perhaps I should have added an appropriate smiley. Bob is blunt and speaks his mind. His frankness is often misinterpreted as crankiness, when in fact he's just cutting through pleasantries and BS and getting to the matter at hand. He's just not a warm, fuzzy, hold your hand, and swap slobber type of guy.

He's inexpensive too.
