Riding in the rain will teach you alot. I have no problem in the rain, actually enjoy it. Throttle control & braking control are key.

I doubt I will make it Sunday. Looks like I will get to work. In today's economy I take all the OT I can get.

The only problem I have with riding in the rain is cleaning all the grime off the bike. Other than that it's pretty fun. Hope you guys get your ride in.

Ugh, I hope the rain goes away. I don't ride wet roads unless there's no choice, so I may be sitting this one out after all. :D Wish I had found this forum before Summer was up!

Saturday.....Saturday! Come ride with us on Saturday.

Sorry was in a hurry this morning. Was going to add that if it gets moved to Sunday I could make it but changed my mind. Did found out today we will be working Saturday and Sunday so that is out as an option.

I did ride to work today. A little rain this morning and more this afternoon. Got to love the looks you get at red lights for the cagers.

I rode the bike to work this morning. I hit a 1/2 mile stretch of rain on the way in, but the ride home was a whole different story.

I'm thankful for my rain suit (only wore the jacket) and the new Bates boots.

The chance of rain is lingering around 50%. It appears that many have decided not to make the run if there is rain.

If there chance of rain happens to drop as low as 20%-30%, would anyone be willing to make the ride, or would it still be a no-go?

Just trying to get a general idea before the last minute gets here.

I'm still in if it drops below 30% and the radar looks pretty clear when we head out. If there is green already on the radar then I probably wouldn't risk it. 250-300 miles of low visibility and lower than normal traction plus normal TN drivers would prohibit me!

Well, not sure what's going to happen. Still a 50% chance of rain. That was the same thing they said for today, and I didn't see a single rain drop during my travels throughout the Middle Tennessee area today.

Based on the current radar, I don't see any storm systems moving in this direction (based on local news stations) for tomorrow. I guess something could pop up, but I see nothing on the radar, except scattered storms in Arizona.

If enough people are still willing to ride, even if we were to encounter a brief shower or two, I'm game. Looks like we'll know more later tonight or first thing in the morning.

Lets check the radar in the morning and you make the call based on what we all see, oh say around 7 AM. That should give most that were traveling a bit to get to the rally point time to make the final decision.

I want to go!

Sounds good to me, but it's not looking good.

These storms seem to be coming from nowhere. I looked on the radar a while ago, and didn't see any storm cell that would cause this 4 hour rain that we've been getting in Hendersonville.

Well your the boss on this one. Leaders have to make hard calls sometimes.

We can wait or make a call and start the replanning phase.

What about a ride to the TGO/Barrett shin dig next month? I would miss a day of hunting to do both, otherwise I'm only available 2010 I'm afraid.

Based on the weather forcast I just watched on channel 5, there is a storm cell slighty to the west of our intended route.

Once it passes, they are calling for partly sunny/partly cloudy skies, with scattered showers throughout the day.

What does everyone think?

TDR my friend, I just woke up but I looked at the radar and dude, it's going to be raining on the route all day! It's rain from Montgomery AL to Clarksville right now and that stuff is pulling to the low in Arkansas and is traveling north west. I want to ride but this one will need a boat I'm afraid.

Posted

Yea, it's going to be a no-go, it appears.

I know some of you will be enjoying your hunting next weekend, but if any non-hunters want to try for next weekend, I'm up for that.

Just let me know.

Yep, huge green and yellow mass coming up from the south. ;(

I would still like to see if we could ride some and go as a group to the gathering at the Outpost in October.

That sounds good to me. I'm all about riding anywhere at anytime.

I may know several other riders who may want to attend with us.

I don't have a bike. RW, can I double? You'll hardly even know I'm back there...
